It is absurd.
Cosmetic type items should be accessible for EVERY class, no matter the type.
Also. Transmog in 10.0. We need to be able to add every item to the collection if its soulbound.
Doing old instances for tmog and not getting more than half the loot added only because its not for your class does not belong into this day and age.

Which light sabers in Korthia? You mean light sabers in Zereth Mortis? These can be looted by hunters 
I’d go further and add that players should be able to transmog any armor type regardless of the class or spec.
Also, give the option to hide weapons while they’re sheathed.
well my hunter did not managed to loot one yet.
Does it have to be a DEMON hunter maybe?
Or is the drop rate just horrible
Aha, so we are talking Zereth Mortis ones, ok.
The swords work in a way, that if your class is suitable to transmog a sword, you can loot it. This essentially means that mages can get str ones, I got Hirukon (int) one on my DH and so on…
About the drop rate I can’t really tell for sure, but I would say it’s quite a high drop rate. I got all 4 within first 5 attempts for each actually. The red one from Xy’rath was the most hesitant, and I got it on 5th attempt. Hirukon was 2nd, Overgrowth 3rd, Engulfer 2nd.
Also since I usually just join groups and not wait, I usually kill the rares with atleast 5-10 people, and never have I done one, without seeing one sword actually drop. It might be abit too much, but I would say the drop rate is 20% for each one if your class can mog it to begin with.
doesn’t make any sense for a mage to look like a full plate wearer.
What about a (DI) Dwarf mage or priest in heritage armors? They look plate 
Same with Light Forged Draenei, Blood Elf or even Mag’har.
Does it really matter at this point?

it’s not useless,
the most frustrating thing is to run something, and it drops cloth mog, on your plate character or plate mog on your cloth character
also another stupid thing is, that it incentives you to make character just for old content, because for example warrior can add most weapons to transmog pool out of all classes
there’s zero reason that it should be this much player unfriendly
does the game become better, when you have to run the instance 100 times instead of 20?
no… it just burns you out quickly and you’re much more likely to not do it in the first place… same as you were much more likely to NOT collect transmog before they added the collection of transmog
The only reason is balance. Other than that there is no reason that plate armor interferes with spellcasting
