Torghast experience (HAVOC)

My issue was mostly the last portal elite. If i havent gotten massive dps powers at that point that elite whacks me to next week.
I just finished my torghast with guildie… ill just take the F and play with people.

Hello,

Would help alot if we knew what talents, soulbind and covenant you are using.

I normaly run Torghast as Havoc with.

Use blur often and specially in big pulls in start. Pop darkness if needed and dont be afraid to use your Metaporphis often.

Use your Taunt to thin bigger groups if needed and taunt npc:s on the edges. You can also use your Cage skill here to. Use your Aoe Stun and single stun often in fights. No point they are just on the bar not being used.

After a floor or two it may not be needed to cc anymore.

I mostly try and get 2 to 3 powers with 50% damage on Blade dance and 2 to 3 powers with 100% damage on imolation aura. % on Haste are nice to and i try to avoid skills that are useless on end boss.

Have you bought the permanent upgrades from the Maw Vendor? Helps alot to.

I am Venthyr and have the Nadija soulbind. Currently going. Left side and a Relentless Onslaught in Potency slot and Felfire haste In Finesse slot.
Havent bothered to change for Torghast but maybe you could try Dancing with Fate or Growing Inferno to push even more power into your AOE if needed.

At 3rd floor vendor next to the guy is a Hologram showing what boss you are going to meet at level 6. Helps alot to know that and plan for it the next 3 floors.

Do you buy the 30% extra damage pot if vendor has it? Makes wonders to do 30% extra whole fight on last boss.

So basically i run how DH used to talent spec and here it is the Blade dance and Immolation Aura that stands for most damage for me. It is also important to move around and make sure to pick up the Souls that drops in fight from mobs. to stay healthy.

I have tried without Demonic Appetite talent and it does not work good at all.

But as you say if you go Vengeance you dont have to think much but can just pull and AOE down. With Havoc i need to be more active and react to the fight but usually no problem at all to clear the tiers without dying.

Hope this might give some new Ideas to work with.

Have a nice day all!

PS 5% Damage buff for Havoc? What a Joke!

Please Blizzard can you stop trying to reinvent the wheel each damn expansion and promise no more borrowed powers etc…
We soon had it all from weapons to cloaks to necks and now a new Soulbind with buffs that proc and ways to alter our skills.

THAT IS STILL A BORROWED POWER IN MY EYES!

But hey i can be happy now from doing 2500 damage to 2625 damage and top DPS in our raids does atleast the double Damage. Yeah i could probably do slightly better damage but it feels like Havoc is in such a bad state that we have to wait for endless tweeks and adapt to them when you try and fix what you broke…again…This time it was the Havoc DH that got destroyed. Ye bruv. If only i was getting damage anima powers on the first floor… Thats the hardest part, after floor 3 it gets somewhat easier, but everything before that is a gamble. I think it is a big problem when i can’t get past fist food boss with mediocre anima powers, even though i used every CD on the boss (+drums and potion), interrupted and stunned every ability and died with boss having 40k hp left and having 9 stacks of +10% damage. Maybe its my ilvl but 240k hp boss that hits like a truck on the first floor makes me kind of sad …

I tried soloing floor 6 5 times today, lost about 4 hours of the day and failed every single time.

I’m honestly so close to unsubbing, it’s not even funny.

You should do it in a group. As DD its a coin flipp if you get the correct powers.
With a group it is easy and mostly doesn’t matter what you get.

Talking Tank Heal 3 DD…

Edit: or go as VDH thats faceroll easy too

Hello Aurysh

Did you go with the talents you got on armory?

Change first talent to Demonic Apetite you need mobs to drop souls during the fight so you can pick up theese to not drop i health to much.

And change to Demonic in last row.

Try to get Blade dance powers and imolation Aura powers. The one that gives you HP for each Mawrat killed is a really nice power to.

In here you need to move alot and pick up the souls that gets thrown out during a fight. That might be the one thing holding you back.

Try also enchant your second weapon. Would suggest to go Celestial Guidance on weapon 2. Works good allround in most cases with theese 2. It does not matter at in what weapon you got the enchants. They have exactly the same chance to proc its power.

Maybe also try and use a more PVE oriented trinket instead of the Brooch.

Hope theese suggestions could change things for you in Torghast.

Have a nice day!

Update. Just did both wings on LVL 8 as havoc. I don’t know what happened, but i got some good anima powers, most of the levels were cleared by cheesing the AOE fire spell that refreshes every time it hits someone and using a +13% dmg per tick conduit, which resulted bosses being melted in 3 ticks (but you need to cast immolation aura once and then just run through the level making sure it always hits something).

But for lvl 8 in upper spires i almost got owned again. No cheesy immolation aura this time, only mediocre powers… but i powered through. The toughest were the duelist vampire floor boss. Hits like a truck, nothing to interrupt, just use absolutely everything and pray it is enough.

Overall, maybe it is the 5% buff (doubt it) but this week i got some really good anima powers, like getting 5 powers of a curse that did 150k in 8 seconds, or multiple powers, where an arcane missile procs whenever you crit. I got 3 of those and whenever i used eye beam, things just died instantly. Speaking of eye beam, isn’t it nice to have 80% chance to have no cooldown? Yeah, this week was good, but still, its a gamble… but it seems the odds got better?

Hmm i recall a nerf from a week or two ago where they said Immolation Aura conduit is now capped at 10 stacks in Torghast, wonder if they accidentally reverted it?..

Anyway, there were some nerfs to Torghast in last few days, so maybe that also helped.

What ilvl were you?

Torghast got nerfed and still it feels harder for havoc than it does for other dpsers.
I did my layers yesterday with 2 other dpsers and a tank since im not wasting my time there anymore alone.

rn im 176. Which isnt much better than when i originally wrote this post at 158.
