Would it be possible to allow alts to start at the same layer as the mains? I can’t imagine I have to do 8 layers, or more, on my alt this week…

If you mistook alt friendly as “don’t have to do any work on my alts” then that’s your mistake.

What etxactly is alt friendly about SL if anything you have to much to do unless you specifically maintain your char(s) especially if you have two alts you do also like to play.
Why must I ffor each and every single alt of them, one not balanced properly unlock every layer independantly?
Why is there no account wide gear for SL? Thats definition of being alt friendly. I can easely gear alt to soft cap.
Destiny allows me to do that across the classes that game offers.

To much to do? Timegates that halt campaign progression? What is?
Isn’t that an exaggeration? No one is suggesting receiving Soul Ash in your mail. You still have to clear the layers, and earn whatever can be earned. However, why start at layer 1? It takes a lot of time per layer and you have already done it. Try to play a couple of alts, or more, and the grind is atrocious. And many, many players keep subbing due to alts.

having to run trough layers that take alot of time but are very easy and not enjoyable on all your alts is just painful. Its one of the reason i have not touched my alts at all this expansion. I wouldnt have mind doing them on alts if they were challenging atleast. But layer 8 is basicly layer 2 now.
Its the same reason i can’t stand games like borderlands2 and diablo 3. they force you to play on easy mode before allowing a proper fun difficulty. At that time you are already so tired of the game and seen it you dont want to play it anymore

You don’t have to, unless you really, really, desperately want to cap your soul ash on an alt for some odd reason. Just do layer 1 of one wing, layer 2 of the other, then 3 & 4 next week, 5 & 6 after, and 7 & 8 last. Stagger it out to avoid burnout. Less soul ash? Yes. But do you really need your legendary on an alt ASAP?
I have 4 max level characters, two of them are soul ash capped, the others do one layer of each wing a week, and will eventually unlock layer 8. Takes very little time, and since most soul ash comes from the lower layers, there’s not much point in pushing higher than layer 4-5. You might be able to craft or upgrade a legendary a week or so sooner… on an alt, I’ll just wait a week more, rather than burn myself out of grinding my way up to layer 8 the moment the alt hits 60.

Considering what we had in BFA, it’s actually a miracle that this expansion is as alt friendly as it is.
It was your decision to make one or more alts. If you don’t have the time or the will for playing and progressing your alt then just don’t do it?
Very self-centered of you to demand changes purely because of something extra that you want to play in-game.
Do the grind or don’t do the alt thing, stop asking for nerfs because you took a bite on more then you can chew.

So you’re implying youre doing covenant sdtuff 2 on 4 characters = around 2 hours per so that leaves you four hours for an averagge lpayer … do thorgast or other stuff…

Layer 8’s final boss is a bit harder than previous layer 6’s final boss. I have screenshots to show I have killed layer 8 final bosses solo on multiple characters and their starting HP. Please do not spout rubbish.
Yes, it would be nice not to have to wait many weeks and to have catch-up mechanics. I am not asking for Soul Ash to be delivered to my alts in the mail. But I should be allowed to catch up to start with, so the “unused” weekly limit should double up, and secondly they should let me start at layer 8 on my alts.
I am a paying customer, my friend, and I have the right to express my opinion and requirements. Just as you have. Now get off your high horse.
Unless you are extremely lucky with your anima powers, last week’s layer 6 and this week’s layer 8 are not trivial matters, takes a lot of time and cannot rush in like in a Diablo 3’s Greater Rift.

Even if i did thorgast 8 like 4/5 extra times just for trying silly builds this week only, having to do 7 faceroll floors on any alt I wanna play Is a bit boring.

That is why you have to take it slow. Kill absolutely everything to get all anima powers. Make sure you have cleared the floor before leaving. When you see tightly packed packs, pick them off from the outside in, like peeling an onion. They usually have very short aggro ranges, you’d be surprised. For example there are two elites surrounded by a mob of 12, you do not go in all guns blazing. You pick off the smaller mobs from a distance. Do NOT send the pet in. Let them come to you, else the pet’s Thunder Clap will pull half the instance. You need to go slow.
It doesn’t make much sense when you can craft 168 gear for an alt that just dinged level 60 and jump straight into doing mythic dungeons, but you have to start at layer 1 in Torghast and do every level.

If you don’t enjoy the first layers on a brand new character to test brand new anima powers and get new legendary recipes then there is no reason why you’d enjoy Torghast later on. You not enjoying Torghast is out of control of Blizzards alt-friendly capabilities.
The only way people who dislike Torghast would enjoy Torghast is not to play it, and skipping core systems to the game isn’t alt-friendly, it’s lazy.
If we descend down the rabbit hole of “I’ve done this on my main” then why do we stop at Torghast? It’s a core SL system if you like it or not. Are raids not alt-unfriendly? Mythic+? PVP?
“I’ve already done 2400 on my Mage, just give my Warrior a full Conquest set upon hitting 60”.
Personally I can’t wait to hit 60 on my DK and Warlock to play Torghast, doing a bunch of runs and playing with fun DK/Warlock anima builds.

I got renowned 11 on my Shaman after rolling it from Priest on the second day of dinging (2 levels higher than my priest). So alt unfriendly. Blizzard should mail all your alts a free legendary, a full set of gear and 200k gold to get you started.
So you can come to the forums and share how much content you have left to do. Oh wait, weren’t you quitting today?
