Yup. Did layer 1 twisting corridors today. Got zero rewards.
I see no reason what so ever to do Torghast more than once a week to get ash for legendary and i see no other reason to do stuff in the maw other gather souls once a week for renown… Twisting corridors seems completely useless in every way possible.
Agreed, delete Torghast from the game! Long and tedious and boring lacking rewards!
nothing will ever be as bad as islands.
idc for rewards, just basic enjoyment. and torghast wins that by a mile
you forgot one thing mate…
Thorgast run time: 1h average.
Island Expeditions: 15/20 mins at max!
i read on wowhead if you killed sire denathrius in CN and do the quest with bolvar you receive 1250 anima
I already said that time investment is relative, 1h can be more fun than 15 minutes if well spent.
So that is not an argument in any way.
Am I the only person who actually LOVED Islands? Transmogs were amazing, zones, voice lines etc.
I really enjoyed them
but this comes down to personal preference, and trust me i did like 1500 islands total through bfa so i have plenty of experience there, islands got incredibly tiresome to the point that i couldnt do them after a while, where are torghst gives me options based on spec and different floors that bring differing challenges,
islands were the exact same thing over and over with a different lick of paint
wether or not something is tedious doesnt rely soley on how long it takes, i have had more fun in basically every torghast run i have ever done compared to any single island i ever did because torghast actualy has a change in gameplay, rather than just pull everything and nuke it down.
it could be a matter of you just not being a fan of the roguelike genre, but torghast is one of the better pieces of content they have ever added to this game. which is unfortunately just a matter of personal preference, you will either love it or hate it,
plus they gave you something, rather than ash… and were less dark and sunnier I love Islands more than Thorgast for sure…
It has to be one of the worst blunders of this expansion. Overhyped feature that was supposed to be a highlight of this expansion. Advertised to be something as big as the covenant system. People were supposed to level alts just to experience Torghast on them and have fun with it on another class.
What we got instead is a long, drawn-out slog through bullet sponge enemies, repetitive same-looking corridors and really annoying brick walls if you happen to roll bad RNG. It’s also really unrewarding, outside of some arbitrary currency it does not reward anything. Not even anima or reputation with ve’nari which doesn’t make any sense. This place should be full of anima and conquering it should progress ve’nari rep.
It’s a disgusting underdeveloped piece of content. I really hope they will fix it in a later patch because sadly we will be stuck with it for the entire Shadowlands duration, not just 9.0.
Ok, once you reach 1500 Thorgast runs let me know please
one of the fun things about torghast is that runs will be different every time, and i love that about rogue likes, so im more than happy to do 1000s of torghast runs, much like i have 1000s of hours on games like the binding of isaac and risk of rain 2,
there is different gameplay options across classes and i still havnt even scratched the surface with alts, so yeah i will more than happily do 1500 runs and continue afterwards
plus we havnt even gotten to the point of the special torghast events yet, which should also add some extra features in for it
That sounds scary, yea. But it was kinda easy. Got 2 powers “high change to heal 5% on dmg” and one “healing while running”. So went easy.
So… here you’re able to afk just at the start of each level.
I believe you let me know in a month or two time please not after 3 weeks.
This just isn’t true in a lot of cases. For lots of classes/specs, you breeze through the trash only to come unstuck on the boss because you don’t have a proper interrupt or you didn’t get the right combo of powers (or have good enough gear) to be able to out dps it. No amount of kiting will help some runs where you’re losing half your health in a single blow and good luck beating Elder Longbranch on a twisting corridors run if your dps isn’t significantly boosted and/or your interrupt has a longer CD than his heal.
My experience of “changing your playstyle around the anima powers” is mostly just “Oh great, I can just spam condemn now!”, or “haha, every other cast is chaosbolt” What are the playstyle changes you’ve had to adapt to?
A good run in Torghast is defined more by luck of the draw than skill and it takes far too long. My 2 Twisting Corridors runs took me 3 hours.
You’re the biggest clown on these forums. Another day another whine thread made by you.
For example, a power combo for DK in Torghast reduces Lichborne CD when using Death Strike. Meanwhile Lichborne continously casts Death Coils both at yourself to heal you as well as damaging your target.
You then change your playstyle to simply generate as much Runic Power as possible so you can spam enough Death Strikes to maximize Lichborne uptime.
That is a definite playstyle change.
Tiger obviously. Not argument in the slightest…
Fair enough, that is an adaptation and perhaps even one you could fail at. I’ve encountered/heard of a lot more examples of “hit condemn to win”, or “just buff convoke till you can one-shot the boss” though and it doesn’t change the fact that, for me at least, 90mins per Twisting Corridors run is something I’m not willing to engage with in the future.
