Torghast layer 3

Hi everyone,

I am decked out in 158 ilevel pvp gear. I tried layer 3 in both resto and guardian specs and I am finding the content very tricky. Resto I got to the end boss but did not have enough dps to finish the end-boss. Guardian, I kept killing myself on those fire traps – both the swinging axe and fire and the fire flames ones. It’s very frustrating getting killed on these traps after reaching the fifth floor.

Is anyone else having difficulty or can give me some tips please?

Thanks,

If you’re struggling with the traps, just take a breather in front of them and get the timing right. Nothing bad will happen if your torghast run takes a bit more time

Try to get the anima power that reduces fire damage by 75%.

Also buy the potion with 30% damage.

Start a group in the premade group finder.

I was also struggling until i made a group and we managed both layer 3 soulforges and upper reaches with no wipes. Group composition was 3 dps, 1 healer and me as the tank.

Easy peasy to solo as Ret Powerhouse.

3rd layer was actually a lot harder as a group at least for me , doing it alone was a lot more manageable , dont forget to use the potion on the last boss and it also depends what covenant you are because you can skip stuff

as a resto druid you could group up with classes that lack self sustainability. Otherwise, learn to play balance druid and you should be fine. And even if that fails, spend some time in random HCs gearing up. Torghast is about trial and error, I failed my first attempt at upper level 3 as well.

I can help a bit .
The powers that u find are really important there are builds for torghast .
Clear all corridors .
Buy the potions they are really good .
Boss is the most important mob in the lvl .
Some bosses are harder then others and u need to interrupt some essential spells.
If u fail try again , i failed my 1st atempt on 3 .
You can party up .
Last floor u can change the talents in the protective bubble of the vendor .

You can cheese all mobs with the damage on entangling roots anima, it doesn’t put you in combat with the mob even if it’s standing in a group. Skeleton minions can be easily kited with dots on them. If you have balance affinity you can hit mobs under entangling roots while you are out of range to them. The 200% increase to regrowth is super powerful for a quick big heal. The last boss was only difficult as balance because I had no interrupt but shifting out to full heal makes it doable.

Torghast is nearly imposible for classes with no self heal. The whole tower need to be revamped a accordingly to each class. Right now, some classes have a huge advantage while others cannot progress solo at all.

well today i joined a prem for l3
you know, to be in a group etc

and yes we simply didn’t have enough damage to beat the enrage (i am @176 ilvl)
we tried twice today and it hurt… then went solo and was a piece of cake (sp)

maybe the boss doesn’t scale for the tank & heal like 3.5 vs 5 dps, and if the party aura is 115 % per player like in the horrific visions, it is even worse

that was your mistake

should have farmed all mythic 0 and hc dungeons to 175 plus

there was no reason to rush Thorgast before tuesday

I tried layer 3 today in the wing named something with forge, I think. I had no problems clearing all the floors, though I really disliked the elites - no real danger, but took long to kill.

Couldn’t kill the last boss on floor 6, though. Avoided all stuff on the ground, but he hit me with some debuffs or whatever, draining me quite fast. He kept on killing my voidwalker really quickly, and the only reason I lasted as long as I did, was that I had the ability to instant-summon a new one. But keeping on healing myself, while constly re-summoning, made it almost impossible to do much damage at the same time, which also resulted in losing all mana. Got him to maybe 25%, and didn’t bother to try again.

I see no point in trying again until I’ve upgraded my gear a bit.

I’m ilevel 157 and tried layer 3 Upper Reaches, slowly but surely made my way to the last boss (massive gargoyle dude) and got absolutely pulverised. Think I spent about 30 mins on that damn trap level too, where that mob runs off and continuously hits you with the debuff that slows you down while you’re crossing fire pits and avoiding those giant axe pendulums.

Probably better to look for a group for speed and to bring down that end boss, for now!

I never had issues with Torghast upper level 3, finished it as shadow priest and several tries at lower level 3 in shadow as well. But after failing 3 runs i tried it solo in holy and it was like taking a candy from a baby…

Seeing that it’s so much easier as healer i did the same on my new druid alt, solo in resto both lower and upper level 3’s easily. I haven’t done any dungeons on the druid either, gear is quest garbage. As resto druid i did most my damage as cat as i have it talented.

?

Mages have no self healing at all and I’ve had a super easy time with torghast so far

What is “so far”?

Layer 1 and 2 are super easy, it gets harder at L3, mainly the end boss.

As in I’ve done layer 3 in both wings without ever getting close to dying

Go as tank and get 4 mages - some of them will get frostchipper anima (that procs 20% of enemy HP, procs pretty often). Pew pew everything dies.

Get the right powers and should be faceroll.
