Torghast return

This may be unpopular opinion but I want Torghast to return in an event like the Mage tower. Scaling exists so it can be done.
I like all 3 modes. I have such fond memories of Twisting Corridors and Jailer’s Gauntlet. Collecting powers to make the character broken is awesome.

Make the mode entire outfit and mount based. Those who want that to go do it. The rest who want power progression can skip it.

The only thing that made going back to get missing things bearable was that I could totally outgear it and walk from one end to the other.

I would hate for it to be made relevant again. I think you can use it for levelling though.

Id love to have something like torghast back, i really enjoyed doing that. Would be nice with different visuals/themes for it.

Today I tried it and it was boring as hell. I want a bit of a challenge.

I don’t see a problem with having two versions of the same thing:

  • The original stays the way it is.
  • The 2nd one which is an event and is scaled. Being an event means it won’t be up all the time and will have its own outfits, mounts, pets, toys and 0 gear progression. That aspect was bad in SL.

And that is why I don’t want it because then I’ll go and endure it all over again :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

I’ll go with you! Cause now we can  tbh though i dont think they will bring it back cause it seems most ppl disliked it and only did it for the resource you had to farm. So dont think u’ll have to worry

The only thing I dislike about torghast is the maw theme. They can reskin it, change up some characters. Maybe even drop a small side story in it. It’d be so fun

The one and only problem with Torghast back in Shadowlands was it was a mandatory part of player power progression.

Nobody would have complained about it back then if the rewards were mostly cosmetics.

The idea of a roguelike mode in WoW was great, untill Blizzard got their hands on it. Torghast was way too controlled and tied into progression, and while it got better down the road with some tweaks and changes, it never became quite what i wanted it to be. The original idea for Torghast was for it to be a endless tower, and i wish it had stayed that way.
A purely optional roguelike mode, with cosmetics, or even with no rewards at all, where thing are just allowed to go crazy would be most welcome imo. Endless tower, randomized floors and unlimited power, just for fun, nothing else.

Torghast felt like forced content. You can not have players feel like they are on a hamster wheel they can never get off of.

Snorghast…

People hated it because you HAD to do it for your legendaries.

I go back there once a while just for fun.

I try to get as many powers as possible and and soul just to see the scaling at lv70.

Keep the tech and core idea, but reinvent the rest.

I’d love a dungeon crawler vibe gameplay, it was great for that. Everything that sucked was the power progression, time gated legendary acquisition and other nonsense like that was associated with it.

Why not just have a fun single player (or group) mode which is all about doing wacky builds and killing things? Make it progressively harder, so it’s always relevant and give cool cosmetic rewards, mounts and things like that.

Just like dungeons and battle grounds, there can be a new gauntlet setting every expansion/patch/whenever.

It doesn’t have to be Torghast itself. They could make a legion themed one, elemental, void, naga, horde, alliance, scarlet crusade, scourge, literally anything, who cares!

Just make the core gameplay fun. Let us make wild builds and do huge pulls.

They made a few mistakes with torghast.

They made it mandatory (as usual)
They tried to balance it instead of having OP broken stuffs for fun.
They took out the infinite halls.

All of these things had the potential to make it better.

Reading all the responses, it seems that most people share the opinion that all bad things in torghast came from the fact that it was forced upon them, or balanced/designed around being completed weekly.

I also have a similar opinion:
I loved doing it with my resto shammy with scaling acid raid and steamrolling everything when stars aligned.
I hope they introduce something like that again. Dumb, op, nonsensical powers with an infinite mode, and just let you go on it. Don’t even care about the rewards, just let us enjoy it.

I played super-casually and only did Torghast when I felt like it, so I enjoyed the mode. I made it a point to see how far I could get with the gear I was wearing (which was WQ/Rep/World Boss gear).

It was a shame that Blizzard was so afraid of people not wanting to play what was a major feature of the expansion, so they made it mandatory by tying player progression to it.

The consensus seem to be that a lot of people liked the concept of Torghast, but hated that they felt they HAD to run it to keep up.
