This is to let you know there is a rare on the floor somewhere ^^
Few pointers (rather than a full-on reply).
You certainly CAN go AFK in Torghast. Simply reach a merchant floor (every 3rd) and take a break while chilling in the safe bubble. Aside from the assassin mod (which can be bypassed via combat) and the melty-melty max-HP per few seconds searing debuff (which can be negated with certain HP-restoring powers), everything else is entirely safe, except maybe those dive-bombers in Coldarra which killed me when I ran off for a smoke out in the open, so don’t go AFK in any open space during that particular area. My fault for not taking my own advice about 3rd-floor safety.
Secondly - to the person comparing Torghast to things like Palace Of The Dead in FFXIV - the difference is POTD is entirely optional, as is the followup content, whereas Torghast has been tied to both the main story and legendary crafting, essentially making it mandatory to some degree.
Most people only POTD to level up alt classes, which is actually a positive. I personally loathed it as the place put me to sleep, and suffered no detriment for skipping both versions of it, because you don’t have to do it at all. It is also similar in terms of Legendaries vs Relic Weapons. Most Relics, while desirable, are not mandatory nor bring any sort of class-based benefit other than being slightly above the current tier of item-level, and most relic weapons (outside of ARR) are very accessible these days.
By comparison, people complaining about legendaries and claiming Legion did it better have to realize that banking solely on RNG drops for legendaries was not fun, even if it encouraged you to keep playing content. The current system isn’t perfect either, but at least you can make/buy/choose which to get and mould it to your preference, even if certain legendaries are obviously superior for certain content types… All the more reason why the current version of supposed ‘freedom’ suits it, because you can make or buy all the one’s you want/need, as annoying as that may be.
He should also get a bonus point for digging up a thread that was to be locked within 6 hours. Bravo.
I thought it meant I was going too slow
Nope! Torghast is a timer free scenario!
Well, except Skoldus wing where you get attacked for being out of combat too long. Sucks to be stealthing
Nope, that means that you are level 3 or above. Different areas have different “Torments”. These things basically attack you if you are out of combat for 30-45 seconds.
If you need to go AFK tips are: find a mawrat to keep you in combat, or rest on the 3rd and 6th levels in the vendor safe zone.
The problem with torghast is not difficulty its duration that needs to be nerfed difficulty only effects few classes with crappy anima powers that are mandatory and go away upon death or despawning pet and even bugs out, this is what slows down the run cos you no longer can play risky cos the risk of reseting and starting over increases the time even more.
Did twisting Corridors over 2 days , overall if you get the the right buffs your unstoppable. The Hunter build with trap and flare and tar buffs the npc stood no chance. Its nice having the mount for the maw other than that I can close the door on Twisting for a while now
This is my problem with Torgast on my mage. Either I get ‘I win’ anima powers and insta kill a boss on layer 8. Or i crawl through all floors just getting nothing and get presented with a mathematically impossible wall that two shots you at the end wasting over an hour for nothing. Just because rng did not give me ‘I win’ powers.
As for those saying ignore it and just get dust from the table. Table is too slow. And it’s been busted since the beginning for some with troops +5 levels higher still failing the mission.
Oh, very much. 100 per week from the table? I’d rather get 1000/week from Torghast.
And indeed, my Kyrian companions are still… well, literally unplayable. They’re level 30 and having a hard time with this weekly level 20 mission. A level 1 Night Fae troop heals more than a level 30 Kyrian companion…
But as with all things Torghast, my advice is simple: go as a team. I’ve yet to fail with 3+ players, even that time we had the Tarragrue in the arena with the final boss
