So ToD is going back to its original state and I hate it so much. I really like what they have done with WW monk for SL but for me the ToD change is just horrible.
I don’t understand the use of the abillity. For raid bosses its going to be a one use abillity. You use it when boss drops below 15%, deal alot of damage and then the CD is to long to be able to use again before boss is dead. An abillity that is used once on a fight is just poor design according to me (buffs like heroism is different).
On trash mobs and while leveling I guess it can be fun to instakill some random mob but it has no real use. Do it, wait 3 min and do it again.
In PvP it’s the same problem as on raid bosses.
For me it’s just a waste of space on my action bar in this state. If the damage of the “old” ToD was concidered to high just nerf it. Don’t make the abillity non usable for 99,9% of the fight.
Our ST suffered in BfA due to the gale window of ToD. Now that it’s going back to its original design, our ST may be buffed (not saying it has been, or will be, it just gives room for a ST buff)
ToD will be quite useful in raids. You speak of it as if the only thing you ever hit in a raid is the boss. I haven’t seen the coming tier yet, but I’m sure there is only going to be 1 ST boss, maybe 2. Other times, deleting a minion, or severely damaging a prio target is quite useful indeed. Same goes for dungeons.
You still have the same mechanic of BfA’s ToD, it’s now on Xuen at like rank 52 or something. You’ll have the exact same mechanic back in SL anyway.
I mean I get it, as an execute, it does what it says on the tin. But it was finishing people off with about 2k hp left, an RSK or WDP would have done the same, why do we need a 3min cd for that!?
Much worse and kinda pointless cross spec imo. Rop should have been map cross spec instead.
The old Tod was so much fun to press imo. You eould same damage and cds for the moment you pressed it. Youd squeeze in every little bit of damage you could then watch them explode as it popped.
Now you press it with no real animation and they just die randomly on a 3 min cd. I mean good for mist and brew i guess but they removed something really cool from ww to do it
Cooldown is just plain too long… It will get used once on raid bosses, where other classes get to burn a cooldown 2-3 times.
Maybe change it so that the cooldown reduces to 30s if the last target dies; at least we could use it to munch through trash packs in M+ and not worry about it not being available for the boss.
when I returned to wow for BFA I hated what they had done to touch of death.
I mean the name says it all. it was supposed to be a killing move. the sound effect and the name all serve to give one impression “you are dead”. and then they turned it into something that was a slow burn explosion move… that I always tended to hit right at the beginning of a fight with a boss or a rare. didn’t make any sense to me at all.
I’m glad they have fixed it.
it is the ultimate kill move like it was before. a regular creature only has to have 1 less hp than me and it’s one-shot. that is a world apart from the basic 35% plus change.
