Touch of Light seems broken

I have been testing Touch of Light and it:

  1. Procs incredibly rarely, like once every ~40 casts or so.
  2. Literally heals for 120, it doesn’t seem to scale at all with spell power.

It seems broken and I hope that isn’t the intended behaviour, otherwise it’s just a wasted space in the tree. Even if it proc’ed on every single heal and only heals 120 it would still be completely useless. I’m not sure what’s going on with that talent.

yep, but why bother providing feedback? blizzard doesn’t care/busy throwing some more changes and feedback to priests

Paladins have a ton of “trap” talents littered throughout the trees. One can only hope they are planing on making a large update to them in one of the content patches.

There are a couple of seriously dead talents, like Hollowed Ground.

There are also some really meaningless talents for specific specs like Seal of Reprisal which is only for ret/prot, why put it in a holy tree if it’s completely useless for holy?

There are other talents which is “technically” fine but totally 100% useless, like Judgment of Light, it would take at least 1 min to get off 25 attacks for 154 heal each, so essentially it’s a 3k heal / min if you stay in melee combat 100% of the time, it’s completely dead.

Seraphim provides almost exactly the same heal output as Seal of Order, about maybe 15% more but only for 15/45 seconds while Seal of Order is almost 100% uptime, why would you ever take Seraphim, it’s just a meaningless talent.

On top of that there are things that are just completely broken:

  • The Touch of Light talent.
  • The tooltip for Of Dusk and Dawn shows 6% damage/heal but when you take it it suddenly shows 10%.
  • Sometimes at random the Avenging Wrath tooltip shows 25 seconds instead of 20 seconds.
  • Sometimes Hammer of Wrath is randomly showing I can cast it even on a target with full HP without any wings procs.

Some of the point evaluations also make no sense, to get 450 heal/0.9 sec on consecration takes 3 points for Golden Path and Seal of Mercy. Nobody is ever going to do that.

There are also much bigger issues with the entire design of some playstyles, like you can play Crusader Strike and melee but it’s a great way to completely drain your entire mana pool in record time. It makes the playstyle completely infeasible.

I am really glad that changes are being made and I’m not one to be overly nitpicky about things usually but it’s just terrible and/or completely broken. I just don’t get how these sort of decisions are being made, who’s the person sitting somewhere deciding that’s going to be a great talent when it’s obviously useless, it’s like they hire someone who has absolutely no idea how to play holy paladin to dream up random things. What they really should do is get the top ranked paladins to help them out in a product discussion, those people have played their class for thousands of hours, they will help them figure out exactly what are the things that need to be changed and updated. I’m not even close to as good as some people on holy paladin and I could have even told them some of these talents are just utterly useless. They need to involve people who has a clue in their product decisions.

This. There are many talents that aren’t working as intended yet.

  1. Of Dusk and Dawn’s tooltip or damage modifier is incorrect when Seal of Order is taken. ODAD should increase damage/healing by 6% baseline. If SoO is taken, HP spenders deal an additional 10% damage/healing, but now the tooltip says the overall damage is also increased by 10% (instead of 6%).
  2. Virtuous Command’s (Ret) tooltip always shows a 5% damage increase, even when 2 talent points are spent (should increase by 10% then). Not sure if this is a tooltip error or whether the extra 5% damage isn’t applied.
  3. Righteous Protector doesn’t reduce the cooldown of Sentinel. (this has been fixed as of 07/11)
  4. Touch of Light straight up doesn’t proc on healing spells.
  5. Divine Toll doesn’t always grant Holy Power as Protection, even though it should. Most of the times it works normally.
  6. Retribution Aura and Concentration Aura swap places on the stance bar depending on what spec you are.

I’ve reported these issues since before the dinosaurs existed, but I guess Blizzard doesn’t read the bug reports.

I reported a list of over 20 issues, more than you mentioned now, including things like the Sactified Wrath tooltip that’s also broken (25 seconds) and random Hammer of Wrath procs for no reason. They removed my post and flagged it as “spam” filtering community content. So who cares at this point, they’ve shown they don’t give a crap about their community.
