Toxic comunity

Not only are there endless queues, even when I manage to play for a few hours in the morning, the gaming experience is very unpleasant due to the toxic community.
I play as a feral, and half the time when I go to the dungeons, some group members start complaining about why I have such a small dps on trash compared to mages or other AoE classes. In especially toxic cases, they kick me. At first I was poorly dressed and thought that the claims were reasonable, but when I started to do top 1 in damage on bosses, it became unpleasant.

I think that the fresh server is a complete failure. this is a terrible place for new players, because it feels like you got into a belche wheel and if you don’t take 70 in a week, and the next week a full gladiator’s set, then you are an absolute loser, as everyone else will definitely tell you.

Dont listen to those haters. It was like that in 2008 so some things never change.

Whats the point of this post exactly?
What you write is essentially correct in most of it’s aspects but this issue simply cannot be corrected as it is a player created problem and not against the rules.

Either learn to live with it, roll into some other class or quit playing.

You must be very stressed if you didn’t see it from the beginning.
I recommend you yourself find something to vent to.

Firstly, I would agree that there’s quite a few toxic players on fresh servers. The appeal to them is to rush everything and min/max whatever they possibly can.
On the other hand, I’ve also met plenty of reasonable and level-headed players that are welcoming to new players like myself. Try to differ them and stick with those people that you enjoy playing together with. Also there’s relaxing and chill guilds that are recruiting people no matter the class and experience!

This is a good question. The post is written on emotions and I forgot about the most important thing.
I agree with you that this is a player problem, and the only way to partially solve the problem, in my opinion, is to add the Toxic button in the Report section, or something like that. At least I haven’t found one.

Are You sure? I can see it (especially being kicked for low aoe dmg) being an example of “Harassment, threats, or abusive / derogatory language and behaviors” which is “subject to punishment up to and including suspension of your account” according to the new “Social contract” that You had to accept after logging in after pre-patch.

My definition off a Fresh server:
A place where absolute tryhards can come to reset progress and try and to obtain an advantage over other (less hardcore) players.

Toxic players on Fresh servers?
Noooooo, really? Noooo!
Who would’ve thought…

This is why people tend to roll on RP, RP-PVP or PVE servers, typically what you’ll find is two things. Firstly PVP servers are often just containment boards filled with the type of people you don’t really want to be around most of the time, second but more importantly the mega servers are the most unpleasant variation. Fresh servers however are like everything bad about the community rolled in to one because they tend to attract the type of people you see posting on imageboards that act like they forget to take their lithium. The people who roll on “fresh” (god it’s an obnoxious term) are usually every negative stereotype about this community chasing an ephemeral dragon.

If you want a better player experience then please try Mirage Raceway on Alliance side, Pyrewood is also an option since it’s better than your standard PVP server in terms of behaviour but it’s still heavily populated. The more players there are on the server the more convenient it is but it also means the less individual worth you will have.

In reality this “social contract” is only “woke appeasement strategy” it will only be implemented in the most severe cases.
Being a toxic a-hole is as far as Blizzard is concerned totally okay as long as you don’t use certain buzzwords.

Servers like Gehennas where I play myself are always going to be toxic cesspools of broken people who have mental issues.
On these megaservers the best course of action is to find yourself a nice guild and mostly play within the confines of that community.

I don’t like things like “toxic player report button” because those would be misused by toxic players themselves. Think of it as something like a real world social credit score…not a happy thing either if you end up at the wrong end of it.

Yeah, that’s the cancerous mentality of the current playerbase. The truth is that it doesn’t matter at all if your dungeon group isn’t optimal. The dungeons are easy enough to clear with very suboptimal groups. The problem is that people want to do it as fast as possible because everything is about rushing and efficiency, so they go crazy over optimization.

Your best bet, if you don’t want to deal with this, is to play tank. You’re already feral anyway. Just go into bear form and queue as tank, and you’re set.

I dont see those fresh servers to be around for long. they may go the way of ERA Venoxis et al … basically a private server for 20 people. I would leave asap and just reroll on a well populated server. if i was playing WotlK

It’s actually fine on Horde too. Mostly nice people from what I experienced.

Berny invites any class with any gear.

Is about the adventure not min-maxing for 2 min faster clears.

The absolute losers are the ones inviting a feral druid expecting them to do more dps than aoe specs. They show lack of knowledge and you should just ignore them and move on. They are not the brightest people.

I mean yeah, you could’ve tank, you could’ve heal, but you manage to pick the most useless dungeon wise spec while leveling. Ppl are expecting retail like aoe form feral, and then, well, you know what happened.

Not specially your fault, you’ll do better & faster by full questing your way to 70
