So I’m a Shadow priest player, a vulpera shadow priest.
I’ve been consistently doing decent damage over all +6 mythic dungeons this expansion, the thing is, last night i thought:
Hey, let’s try myself and apply for a +7 since i know the tank route, the boss mechanics and i’ve been doing this dungeon almost non stop to try to get a certain item.
A group accepted me and well, we died 6 times over the course of the entire dungeon and we didn’t make it in time ( % needed too xd)
Then they started to flame me, to tell me to uninstall the game, to do alt f4, that i should be playing anything else, etc etc
It’s the first time in years someone made me feel bad in a game, went to bed after that…
I mean, you can be angry because of a deplete, but never, never bully someone, this is quite common in mythic plus (already saw it on Shadowlands, last time i played)
You can comment on it or you can share your story
(pd: please buff SP, he’s in quite a bad state now)
This has been always the case with this game, there has been even this kind of toxicity even on leveling dungeons. You have been lucky to stay away from the worst people for this long.
the tryhard mentality where everything needs to be perfect will cause people change to this way. And most of the cases they don’t see em causing the problems or having own bad decisions
I’ve not experienced any bullying in M+ and to be honest, it’s the Interwebs, any form of bullying is normally done by people who have been extremely bullied in their real lives and are now trying to get back at their own self-hatred by bullying someone else.
Anyway, I have experienced some form of annoying behavior from some people over the time in the game, but you can see that it’s from frustration, but never directly aimed at an individual. Maybe I’ve been lucky so far, and I know there is only a matter of time before I see what you’re talking about.
In most cases, ignore them and move on. Taking whatever they say personally is a victory for them.
That’s why I mostly stick to casual/chill content, I have no desire for some sweatlord throwing insults at me in my leisure time, RL is stressful enough.
Just reply with something along the lines of, ‘oh no I guess I’ll have to cry myself to sleep now’. Then put them on ignore. Guaranteed they’ll be way more annoyed than you.
So you had one bad luck on party member in years and you make a post about how wow community is toxic? Dont these 2 arguments contradict each other?
Why you guys even care so much about what random overgrown kids in wow say? Just throw a counter argument to prove them wrong or just leave and admit it was your fault and learn from it. Go next.
Wouldnt that actually be a sign of pretty low toxicity?
Also its not a wow thing, its a humanity thing.
Dont focus on the bad experience, keep the good ones in mind.
M+ is kinda competitive and people get frustrated if things doesnt end like they want. Its not excuse for their behavior, but you should report them and forger about it a second later.
There are idiots everywhere. Even in real life. You happened to bump into one.
While it was innapropriate what they did to you. It still dosent change the fact that its the reality of human civilization.
What I truly, honest to god disagree with is the following :
Claim that its the first time in years something like that happened. While simultaniously in the following phrase state this:
You cant claim both. And you absolutely cant claim wow as a whole is “toxic”. You yourself said you were having a blast doing 6+…
So I want to stop this spread of missinformation in the community. Please stop. There are some idiots. But most of us are not. Dont put us in the same bag please !
It upset you? It shouldn’t. People who spaz out like that tend to do it cause they are frustrated because of their inadequacies. Someone like that shouldn’t hurt you. Also change race.
people are playing this game since decades and did it and seen it all and everybody has a now a short fuse cause they are running a dungeon for the possible 10’000 th time.
