A good thing to do would be to play really undergeared character and do their keys, lowering it and go again.
They need a good time in a good low level environment, to get an hang on everything, especially on their class. It takes time.
Problem in that is for new players difficulty spikes so high and unexpectedly that you end up being dead weight quickly, especially now that low keys are farmed by 290+ people, i think a completely new player starting today could end up with 10+ in bag without even realizing it by tonight.
So even by doing their own key they go out of their own league pretty easily.
And i get that is wrong, is just that the key system is something not well planned for newbies and they are basically something the system punish you for having in a group.
I agree this is a massive problem, however the player base can help by being more helpful. If a key isn’t timed because someone is new, telling them to uninstall the game isn’t going to make it timed. Instead, why not help them learn, so that next time they’re an asset.
I tested IT myself last tier. I ended up with as high as completed 17 key on first reset just by being carried with descripion of group “please help me get Gv” . (IT did help IT was survival Hunter albeit IT was 226 when i started )
They can end up much higher then +10.
And then problems and insults start because they dont downgraded their keys only Hope for Free carry
Yes but M+ isnt good for explaining either, like lets pretend we just did a key, you messed it up and we failed but completed.
What am i supposed to do. Write a review of 40 min run? Like genuinely help a player out after a bad key run would take an insane amount of time to explain.
+5 ? I have never seen people insulting each other in such keys
+15-17 ? Ofc frustrations can happen when 4 other peopel waste their time becasue someone thinks its good idea to learn how to Play your class in +15 .
You want to teach new players about m+ ? Tell them to do all dungeons on +2 to +5 before attempting anything higher and deranking their keys .
In my experience i have seen that when i level and collect gear in vanilla, im roughly at the same spot as other dps. but when i find grps in extended searches and end up in pandaria my dps flies up above the top as if im a level 10, and when i end up in a TLK grp my dps goes down to the bottom.
So i would claim that the noobidity is at the kickers for not looking around in the game to find out what bliz is doing to it.
If you told him what he needs to do, you’ve done your bit, I’m not saying bad players don’t exist, just that new ones do who could become great players with a positive push.
Dps was about 16k overall.
Point being, I have seen tanks like him do twice his dps, but no one gave him a hard time. He was being an jerk . Plain and simple.
You could argue that if they’re the keyholder for a dungeon that’s in high demand from strong players, there’s nothing wrong in them wanting a carry through it in exchange for providing your key to the group. This logic won’t carry into super high keys, but in low dungeons that’re farmed for valor or ones that have some strong gear high-end players target (like Mechagon for rings) the trade of a key for carrying the keyholder is valid.
as some said in this thread, wow has become so competitive and everything evolves arround end game, so people now want everything done fast, if one person is not up to their standard you get flamed for it.
as long as there is timers in dungeons, this will continue, and probably get worse
It’s the game forcing this way of toxicity. I played classic all the way recently and never run into this problem. We had dps below tanks and we carried them anyway because anything is balanced towards fun and not to be a major struggle.
If the core game design is made around being the best of the best to get the smallest reward vs wasting time, it’s only natural to have a high amount of toxic people.
Retail is simply no longer made for the masses. That’s all.
Eh… have you ever witnessed a choleric meltdown of arena players or the letter-based outburst of frustration in bg chats for losing a match?
You could even go as far and say they put in the effort of building a successful group if the key is done in time. Professional lead comes even more into play when you’re forming a raid group. Done so with all my alts on low item level. Didn’t make much damage at first but all groups I’ve composed cleared the raid, so better job than a bunch of curvers.
Timers in dungeons aren’t going away. If they did go away, a very large chunk of the playerbase would also go away.
If people don’t want to do dungeons with timers, the solution is simple. Don’t do them. The dungeons still exist on normal and heroic mode for people who want to do them, exactly the same as in classic.
