TR servers

TR servers looks good by being live servers , i think most pvp players would use that server to play pvp equally by gear balance etc. and im pretty sure all pvp’ers would agree of having a server like that in live would bring back customers and will be a better place to the current pvpers.

Well, in the past Blizzard did have the tournament servers open intermittently. The popularity seemed to decrease each time and the Murkalot pet appeared to be the main incentive for a lot of players to get involved.
I think the lack of popularity had to do with the fact that you weren’t really playing your own character, or playing in the real WoW universe. That detachment from the Live game likely affected the appeal. It’s the same with the PTR servers - Arena players don’t flock to those either to test things out.

Beyond that, for Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard presented the Trail of the Gladiator feature, which was basically a periodic event (like the weekend events) which would introduce an Arena tournament in a special setting that simulated the tournament servers (i.e premade gear, separate ratings, etc.).
But the Arena community vehemently criticized it, largely because of its periodic time table - as opposed to being constantly available. So Blizzard scrapped the feature entirely.

So looking at it holistically, it’s difficult to see Blizzard’s motivation for pursuing this kind of Arena gameplay for the third time, when the first time wasn’t a big success and the second time was criticized to the point of being withdrawn.
It’s also difficult to see where the broader player interest is outside of the hardcore PvP community.

taking credit about obversations what blizzard is doing is always wrong because they barely have made any good changes to PvP, so you can’t obverse what blizzard has done in the past and try to justify it.

but idk why you are always talking on behalf of blizzard or their observations but if there is a chance ur working for them pls fix destro/dh/mw

As long as class design and game / class depth is at its all time low, pvp wont ever be fun

Why is the answer scrapping a feature instead of implementing what the playerbase wants?
You (not directly, but) blame the pvp community’s toxicity for not getting what they want in your posts and many times we can read about Blizzard’s own “every voice matters” sentence from you.

To give you a comparison about company philosophies Grinding Gear Games has a very good attitude towards players, they do communicate a lot on the forums or on reddit, players have a very high chance to receive personal answers to their ideas and many of them will be implemented into the game.

In WoW it’s harder to see constructive criticism or good ideas, but they’re definitely there. One very good example is the pvp vendor topic, it takes literally a few hours to put one into the game but the community has been waiting for one since the start of Legion and we have to buy a new expansion to see one (same about abilities that were removed for no effing reason).

The point I wanted to arrive at was to somewhat question whether this is something the playerbase actually wants.

The OP wants it? Sure.
Some devoted PvPers want it? Sure.
The broader playerbase wants it? Questionable.

That being said, you’re absolutely right that every request has merit to the person who requests it. And yes, Blizzard’s Every Voice Matters is that merit incarnate. And I certainly hope that the OP gets what he or she wants, even if I don’t have any interest in it myself or think it is likely to happen.
I should probably be better at including the merit of the individual player’s desire for something in my posting, and not just tunnel-vision on a cold & analytical perspective. My apologies for that. It’s admittedly too harsh. Point taken.

So with that in mind, if Blizzard would be willing to open Tournament Servers for the general playerbase, then there would certainly be – at the very least – a small and devoted audience for it. And who knows, like with Classic WoW, the audience for a PvP Tournament server option might be greater than it initially appears. There’s certainly a potential extra audience in those various players who currently satisfy their need through various private server options (like there was for Classic WoW).
And regardless of the size of the audience, having the option to play on a Tournament server would certainly not do any harm to anyone, so there’s no outright reason not to have it available. Whether Blizzard will make it available is another story perhaps.

(In hindsight, I should have included that perspective originally as well, but I didn’t)

I think a part of it is that Blizzard’s game design approach is just really slow. Remember that scene in Lord of the Rings where the Ents are gathering to discuss whether they should go to war or not, and it takes them forever to reach a decision? Yeah, that’s Blizzard.
Not to toot my own horn, but I thought it was very obvious early in BfA that PvP vendors would be re-introduced, because the player demand was so big. It would just not be before the next expansion, because Blizzard are slow to finalize their designs and communicate them. And so it was. Patience is really a virtue when it comes to Blizzard, for better and worse.
And yes, you’re right that some other game developers have a much faster response time and aren’t afraid to shoot from the hip and communicate even if something hasn’t gone though all the various approval processes. But that’s not Blizzard. Blizzard are the Ents.

Hahahahahaha Hey avines

So the main incentive is the reward for the real characters. Only the pet and a title few ppl knew where it was from was linked to the real characters as a reward. Solution then is to link all of the rewards, including all the season titles and transmogs etc. to the real characters. Problem solved. Then you’d get popular tournament servers.

But then what would be the point of a separate realm? May as well just put the TR vendors in the live servers at that point.

I think they wanted to do something like that in WoD, I remember there being a vendor that sold max IL PvP gear that only worked in certain instances.

Didnt u need to go to volrath to buy stuff cant remember 100%

Not too sure either i didn’t play WoD that much, i just remember a vendor outside Highmaul in Nagrand that sold gear that only worked in certain instances.

I don’t even recall what those instances where, the lvl 3 Garrison Coliseum maybe?

I kinda disagree with TR servers.

I still play this Game for the overall WoW package, not to just play PvP. If my whole point was 24/7 PvP I would have quit WoW already by the end of WoD if not early Legion.

And to the overall package is everything that makes a MMORPG a MMORPG. Removing that would just be… eh.

Let TR be TR realms for… TRs and just make the overall package of PvP better instead.

Of course that is just my opinion, but getting rid of my chars to make a completly new one, even with better/improved PvP? No no.

Or to say it differently: The Game should still feel like a MMORPG in its PvP aspect, where when you are a main character it actually feels that way too. TRs would put that kinda off imo.

Ah you mean war games gear.
