So i am trying to get the ability to be able to track fish. I have looked up how to do this and it says that i need the weather beaten journal from fishing at wreckage. I have went to all of the places where they are meant to be and i can’t find any for some reason. Any help would be much appreciated. I have tried zangarmarsh and i have also tried the south end of Stranglethorn.
Hello! Zangarmarsh should have plenty of wrackages situated mostly in the western part of the map! Eastern part is generally poorer in wreckage for some reason in my experience.

I will try the wetern part now. iI tried in the big lake in the middle and there wasnt any. Was i looking in the wrong place?
Well, the Serpent Lake is unfortunately generally scarce with wreckage, though the southern part of it near the ruins should still hold a few. But the western lakes usually have at least 3-5 wreckages, so that’s where I would look.

Darkmoon Faire will start at midnight server time, they have lots of flotsam/wreckage around the island too to fish from.
I have as Horde got mine in both STV and Ashzara along their coast lines.
The thing is you don’t need to fish shoals or junk to get it, normal fishing gets you it too.
The least amount of time approach: Daily fishing quest in capital cities.
Most of my alts got it from the first bag, others not more than 3 fishing dailies.

This book also drops from the Bag of Shiny Things that is the reward for doing the fishing daily in the capital cities

Most of the time you can get it on stranglethorn near booty bay or in Darkmoon Fair.
You can get it too on cataclysm quest daylies in Stormwinds/ Ironforge or Darnassus.
If you do both fishing and quest i believe you can get it in 1 day.
Did you need two threads on it?
Google is your friend. I got mine just by following the directions people wrote on Wowhead. Go to Stranglethorn, fish Iron Bound Trunk from Bloodsail Wreckage(it looks like a bunch of floating wood planks, crates and barrels on the water, around the coast), don’t open them until your Classic Fishing is level 100. Get atleast 15-20 boxes. Once your fishing is level 100 and you have atleast 15 boxes, open them. You should be able to get it.
Fish in pools. Can you see pools? I always get the book in pools.
