So with prepatch the big change for boomies was that u have to alternate eclipses (except when bursting).
Discarding the topic of if this was a good change or not, there seems to be a major flaw in implementation, in that there is, as far as I can tell, no way to track which eclipse I’m supposed to be rotating to next, and no indicator for when the cooldown on entering the same eclipse twice in a row has reset
(the later being when having dropped combat for a few seconds mostly, since while continuously fighting you ideally will have an eclipse available at almost all times)
My proposal would be to just have another buff/debuff, since that is most likely the easiest to implement and should be compatible with existing add-ons.
That being said, if there is a way to track these things in game and I just havent found it yet, pointers are appreciated!
[edit:]
As the replies pointed out, there is in fact, a way to track this! ty
I did have noticed that little number on the bottom right corner. Although did anybody managed to come up with a weak aura to track that?
Don’t want to be tunneled towards my bars for that little thing.
And this is why the spec is flawed. You need addons and weak auras to be able to play it properly since we need to track the timers all the time, and the starlord buff. Because we need to pool our AP for x3 starsurges in an eclipse, we need to know how long left we have in the active eclipse.
IMO, no spec should need a bunch of weak auras and addons just to play the rotation properly.
Wait hold on, i believe this is what separate de good players from great, a great player will hold no bars in getting an edge. If a player wants to perform at their best, while playing mechanics and being aware of their surrondings, without their eyes twitching all over the screen then more power to them.
I’ll go on further, with how the base ui is (upper left screen player bar + powers, dots on target close yet in another unit frame, buffs on the opposite side on the upper right, then abilities to track cooldowns on the bottom of the screen) with the combat action happening on the center, no spec can have its rotation being executed properly without addons.
How is it MORE skill to have a bunch of addons and weak auras that literally tell you everything?? That makes no sense. It’s convenient, sure, but it’s more skill if you don’t have weak auras.
I don’t mind WA and addons obviously, I use a few myself, however I think tracking a bunch of different timers regarding your spec alone is tedious and silly, ontop of encounters and other things.
I have played many different specs, and none of them need a tracker more than balance in it’s current state.
Enabling personnal resource bar puts your health, resource, and important class buffs right in the middle of your screen. There’s an addon called “Personnal resource clickthrough” if you don’t want to select yourself when clicking it, and you can also enlarge it in the options to make it more visible. Your current eclipse is tracked here.
