Trading in HC, why is it not blocked?

What’s with this assumption that classic is in any way shape or form hard? It’s not, trading or no trading.
Classic hardcore allows people to just play to have a good time … no rush to end game or bull like that, so try to do that instead of constantly pondering “but that mage traded a sword with the warrior and he gave him a staff”.
Also, it is not hardcore self found. It’s simply 1 life, no more no less than that.

^ All of this!

Thank you! :clap:t2:

Personally I prefer it this way. Let people have the rule of only 1 life and then everyone can impose any further restrictions that they want for their character. For example, I’m only using crafted/found/reward gear but I am using the AH/trading for mats/items for crafting which otherwise would be unobtainable. I also use it to sell mats I don’t need to help fund my skills etc. These are the rules I chose for myself. I don’t expect anyone else to have to follow them.

Play how you want to play, its your money that is paying for your subscription after all.

Blizzard want as broad community to try out HC as possible, so they keep rules basic and I appreciate it. If you want HC community to grow you need to understand that not everyone is ready to implement hundreds of restrictions upon themselves in the first run. They want WoW still to be MMO unlike SSF who are afraid of playing with another player so try their best figuring out how to make killing a boar in open harder, not understanding that one life in a party environment is the hardest hardcore challenge called the human factor.

If I trade it doesn’t affect you. So you do you and I’ll do me.

It’s not like the rules weren’t posted weeks and weeks ago.

I feel like they should have blocked trading/auction house till level 20 or 30. In the early levels good gear make such a huge difference and you can boost your character so hard. In later levels it doesn’t matter so much anymore. Also it would make it for professional auction house trader a bit more difficult as they first need to level a character.

The general definition of “hardcore” for most games is generally ‘When you die, you die for good and have to start again’. Beyond that, it’s your choice. You might as well go play a solo game if you dont want to trade etc… with other people.

The choice is literally yours to trade or not. The PVP on Hardcore servers is a bit lame and you cant do lvl 19 BGs with a twink.

It’s not wrong to trade, imo. However, trading will make the challenge easier, especially for certain classes. Take warrior, being able to easily get your hands on a big twohander will make you quite a lot more powerful than having to think and plan your weapon progression, etc.

It’s not as much of a feat to level a warrior to 60 if you can just drop by the auction house every few levels and just buy the highest damage dealing weapon for your level.

Personally, I decided to avoid trading because of this. The challenge will be greater with the rules set up by the addon. And the sole reason I do this is to challenge myself and prove to myself that I’m capable enough.

Its not blocked because it was a stupid idea, much like the grouping restriction.

Also, I would like to see leatherworker without trading(since some recipes require tailor/alchemy goods) or even better - engineer without trading

What’s wrong with trading ?
Seriously, what’s the problem exactly ?
You don’t want or like it, don’t trade, that’s it.
I love the fact I can trade in hc.
If you want play naked, no weapon, only basic attack, no trade, no loot, no quests. You can do what you want, but let other trade, it doesn’t hurt you ?
For casual ppl with lives hc is hard enough on its own, if it’s not for you just add as many rules as you want.
Go naked , it will be harder.

I love trading in hc because there are fewer bots for some farming spots <3

It’s more like RWF raider whinning why not everyone in this game spending same time in myth raids or even ignore raids at all

Blizzard gave us a server that offers 1 life experience with no forced rules.

It’s up to you whether you want to disable trading for yourself.

What this server ensures:
You can’t cheat death, no appeal drama.
Bots will struggle since only 1 life.

For at least first 2 months it’ll be a good player experience.

You can try another offline solo game like dark souls or diablo or something if you want a hc exp with no trading this is mmo its not meant for solo play

Why everyone should follow the rules you want to implement yourself? You can follow them if you want, what’s the problem?

If someone tells that they’re playing HC without using professions should everyone follow their personal rule too?

or like me: No better gear than white. I do me, you do you.
But must agree an inordinate number of players reach level 60
But is OK with me. When / if I reach level 60 will feel PROUD no matter how many before me

I would never even try hardcore with no party/trading/ah. I want to play with friends how I want. Probably like most ppl. Servers would be dead in days if it were with HC addon rules.
