I think satan wants to squeeze more money out of blizz
But that’s the point. Tenders are capped at 1000 per month, but if you can pay real money to get more above this 1000 (which is how it’ll work, 99% chance), that does affect the game. Paying players can literally get more stuff which can’t be compensated by more time spent.
Here is my prediction, and it is what I would do if I was bobby: I would just increase the Tender cap to 1500 per month and make it more grindy. Then I would add a pay2skip option by allowing players to skip the journal progress with money by buying 1000 tenders, and those can not be earned again after you bought it. It would also match the number
This would be acceptable. Which is why it’s unlikely.
Still somewhat sketchy if they balance it in a way to encourage skipping, like making is REALLY grindy. But still.
Well, I think it’s likely, because it is accectable and it will make them a lot of money. Plenty of people would procrastinate the journal until last day, realise it’s too grindy, and pay them like 10 bucks to skip it.
Yes, but with this system, one player can still only buy one per month. If it can go above the normal cap (especially if they further increase prices), some people will buy 5 or even 10 packs to get everything. I think it’s far more likely Blizzard wants to go this direction.
That’s pulled out of thin air.
Playing less doesn’t make you stupid.
They completely mauled Overwatch, so WoW going down the drain with it doesn’t suprise me at all. It all really sucks, I am super tired of all games going down this same crappy cash route. It’s just gonna push me out of gaming completely, since I’m not gonna pay anything past this current subscription(which is already starting to get close to too expensive as well), to get any reward out of playing. It’s just not worth it at all, but hey… let’s just milk all the stupid people with too much money at their hands. Money dictates everything anyways.
Just get out.
This is why I get zero rewards out of OW anymore. Go eat your battlepass, and let the rest of us be.
Battlepass is a horrible idea.
This month I realized there were more expensive stuff to buyout. So their direction will be ;
three or four 600-700-900 Tender worth of items if you have 2 or 3 things you want, you can freeze 1 till next month but you’ll have to pay for 1. They’ll bring prices to somewhere where players will feel obligated to buy at least 300-400 Tender more.
A good goldsink method too, people with gold going to convert their gold to token then to balance, then with balance they’ll buy Tender, people who pay for their monthly gametime with gold if they have limited gold will have to choose between one t-mog they like or beautiful mount they want, or gametime. Alternative is real money.
A clever move, I don’t care personally. I have 2650 Tender, it is a concern for people with no impulse control. I’m sure there are people who are sitting at zero Tender right now, prepare your wallets, uwu.
No it isn’t, I don’t know how so many people can have this absolute tool mindset but it is exactly what enables the disgusting business practices used in the modern gaming industry.
Cosmetics ARE important, they are more important than gameplay for many people, especially MMO players. Having ANY purchasable cosmetics in a premium MMO with a monthly subscription is already unacceptable, and is only made possible by fanboys and complacent people with this mindset.
My only question is why? If you want to sell cosmetics, just add them to cash shop. Trading post as opposed to cash shop rewards players for doing ingame activities. It just beats the purpose of the feature in itself. Or if you want to offer cosmetics that are both buyable and earnable, just add currency that you can use inside cash shop. Why make two seperate cash shops, or im missing some weird marketing technique…? Its both confusing to player and extra programming for devs, in other words stupid.
Why? To bring microtransactions to the game.
Legacy shop items were not so micro. 20-25-30€ price tagged stuff.
Do you remember what they sold for 5 euro something like that? Guardian Pack, 3 piece transmog. Cheaper than most stuff on shop.
There is a difference between 30€ and 5€. When what they sell is 30€ shop mount for example, there are 10.000-20.000 people out of 1.000.000 players that intend to pay that 30€, but… There are actually alot more people who are okay with paying 5-10 for a mount they like.
Basically we had macrotransactions until now, micros are coming soon. Also you can convert non-payers to payers by teaching them ingame transaction behaviour.
“I only need to spend 10 euro to have enough Tender to buy Spectral Tiger, if I miss it will rotate back god knows when”
Pulls the credit card out of wallet
This is it.
You are really overthinking this, do u see any prove that they would make the mounts or transmogs more then 1000 tenders? I dont see it atm. Even if they say lets price some mounts like 1350 i dont really see the big deal, if someone says ow i dont have enough tenders well let me buy some the jokes is on that player tbh, they can wait another month and they would have the tenders. Once they say ok we are removing the FREE tenders then its outrages but now it isnt really tbh. and these opinions of you guys its just based on because wow has a monthly fee, if wow was free you would be ok with it wich is even hypocritic to say the least.
Well, at the very least, this month already the items cost considerably more than the last few, with almost all of the items costing over 500, therefore you can only buy one (if you started with 0).
And every item they put on the trading post is an item they don’t put as a reward for in-game activities. Like, how video games work. You play, you do something, you get something. Now it’s all a separate thing where I guess you can get 1 or 2 items without paying, and everything else only is you pay.
The other thing I meant to put in that post is that you’re guaranteed to get whatever you really want from the Post if you work at it. It’s not like my 200 attempts to get Rivendare’s charger which is probably the most boring thing I’ve done in the game.
if thats the case, remove monthly sub and i dont mind tenders being in shop.
Otherwise this is bulls hit…
if they add this ill leave the game and never come back been playing 18 years but the day its added ill leave without a backword glance
?? adding tenders to shop basically turns the whole thing into a small casual battle pass, i’m not the one doing it. they should however, add a big strong battle pass and remove subscription based payment method . doing both is a bit too much.
Blizz adds real money to the trading post and I’m out.
