Hey all, what’s your opinion about the rumours about the currency of trading post added later on on the cash shop? I really do not like this and i wish there would something we could do to prevent this from happening. Don’t know if the council have take position on the matter. I personally think its a huge step back and will eventually ruin this so good feature. Would really like to know how other people feel about it.
I wouldn’t mind if they allow me to sell back my trading post coins for Cash or blizzard balance… I have like 4-5k and i find the xmogs quite not to my taste and have no idea what do i do with them.
And i will never spend IRL currency to buy these anyways as im sure i would never run out of these coins
Doesn’t bother me either. I rarely buy stuff from the trading post(unless there is some really good looking mounts). So I always have leftover coins from previous months.
It’s awful, and so are the people who defend it.
It will invariably be balanced around being able to get less and less with the 1000 tenders you can get in the game, compelling you to buy the currency. And most good transmogs and mounts will now be in the trading post rather than a reward for actual in-game activities, you can see this already with 10.1 which barely added anything aside from the class tier sets.
I love the gact that theyve unearthed graphical updates for the tender amounts that are clearly for the actual outpost store listings (if being sold in a cash shop they wouldnt be in so many denominations) and everyones rushed to be raging about something that doesnt exist.
Are you high? Check any mobile game where they sell a premium currency, there are always multiple denominations with the bigger ones being sold at a slight discount to make you consider buying that even when you only really want one item.
If they’re actually adding it to the shop? Bad and really scummy.
The Tender stuff should be earned by playing the game - just increase the amount we can get every month to 2000 or something. Do not let people buy it with money.
I have no idea if achievement points hold any truth but i find that people with less( play game less) are ok with it and people who actually play the game doesn’t like it. Maybe it’s just a coincidence.
It’s pure cosmetic it doesn’t affect the gameplay so it’s fine.
It looks like a step from Blizz as FFXIV did with their shop.
Newer players may come from other games where the in-game currencies etc being bought for real money is the norm - so they dont care. Old players are more likely to be against it, as it hasnt (and shouldnt) been the norm in WoW.
Yeah this. People really making a hen from a feather at this point.
Or some people dont care about achievements at all? Playing since TBC. And I mostly raid/M+ so most of the achievements are what you get passively from those. I am not going out of my way to get loremaster, map explorer and etc for the sake of the achievement.
TL:DR People with less ach points doesn’t 100% without a doubt mean that they are new to the game.
So is this confirmed or are we just being triggered for the daily dose of sodium?
As far as I’m aware nothing is confirmed, the debate is based on art assets of the Tader’s Tender that were datamined a few days ago.
While nothing is confirmed, I think it is a very bad idea if they do this. We already pay for playing, there’s already an in-game shop where we can spend real money. This will be a very bad PR-move that will only make Blizzard seem even more greedy, along all the other bad moves they have been doing lately.
Been thinking, and I kinda want to buy conquest points. that’s what this trading post-cash thing has inspired my lazy butt to think on.
What is the reason you really don’t like it?
Why do you want to prevent it without any given reason?
Why?
It is a step forward. Buying the things or refusing to buy them depends on you. If they put some things that fit my class/character phantasy and if I don’t have enough tender, of course, I will use it.
However, I will never spend money or in-game gold for a pink Cloud Serpent or for a two pixels Vyrkul set, but if they put some nice-looking daggers and if I am out of currency, I will buy it.
See? It’s about self-control.
I think it is a bad idea, but really only if they make changes to the trading post.
If they continue with maybe 1 mount, 1 pet and some tmogs then honestly I don’t care, I’ll buy the mount if I like it, maybe a new mog and that’s it, I get to save the rest of the tendies for later. It is really only an issue if they start adding either 1) a lot of cool stuff so people will be ‘forced’ to buy tenders if they want them or 2) if they add very expensive stuff (imagine Brutosaur for 5 or 10k tenders), so they will effectively make sure everyone who wants it will have to swipe.
Doubt its happening tbh
Blizzard monetizes alot sure, but when it comes for wow they just add niche mounts and minimal things
