Trading post keeping 700 due to "transaction taking longer than expected"

I tried to buy the Dim Coldflame Core Mount yesterday evening, but I received an Error “transaction taking longer than expected” this morning I’ve lost 700 trading post tokens and I didnt get the mount.

Am I the only one facing this issue?

Hi there Dinary,

No other reports so far and most commonly issues like this would be either a temporary display issue fixed with a relog, or simple confusion about the amount you were expecting to have.

Either way you can check up on your correctly available balance and history with the info here:

I hope that can help shed some light on it, and that you can still save up the tenders needed for the mount!

Hi Tyrskorn,
I had 1400 coins yesterday, I’ve lost 700 today.
The transaction history does not show your value before or after and it does not show the amount you get for normal quest, like “completing 10 quest” in the adventure guide it only show you how much point you gain for complting events.
So normal quest in the adventure log, is not listed in there.

Therefore the transaction log is incomplete and not really useable for checking what happend.
I need some in depth logs for what happened, so I can get either my mount or the tokens back.

But you don’t get tenders for just “completing 10 quests”, you get adventure points.

That’s just one of the tasks you do to advance the bar. It does not grant tenders by itself.

“Completing 10 quests” might be something that gives you 50 out of the 200 points you need for a tender reward, but not tenders by itself. Did you maybe confuse the adventure points those tasks reward (and advance the bar) as rewarding individual tender?

You only get tenders when you reach the tender reward steps on the dungeon journal track and those are tracked in your income log. Every tender transaction, coming in or going out, is listed there. You do not get tender for individual tasks, only for completing the steps on the bar, and those track as “in-game event” as opposed to an external promotion or (future) shop purchase.

Every month you can get 500 tenders for being subbed without doing anything (pick up from the chest immediately) and you can earn 500 more by filling up the bar - sometimes you can get more, but they announce that beforehand.

However, even when there’s more tender to be gained, you don’t get single instances of tenders from individual quests, only from filling up the bar. Every time you fill up the bar to get a step that rewards tender and you claim that tender from the chest, it’s an “event”. Those events are the only time you will receive tender.

So here is my event of opening the chest for December:

Dec 1, 2024 Granted Via In-Game Event Battle.net +500 Trader’s Tender

And here’s a tender step I gained in November:

Nov 8, 2024 Granted Via In-Game Event Battle.net +250 Trader’s Tender

Usually when what you describe happens, it means that you didn’t have the 700 tenders in the first place but were shown you had more than that through a bug in game.

Ah that makes a little sense, however it still doesn’t explain the fact that I yesterday was able to click on the mount, click purchase, this button is only clickable when you have enough tenders, then get the warning “transaction is taking longer than expected” and today I’m low on tenders less than 700 so not able to buy it again and no mount in my collection.

And checking the transaction history does not show how many tenders you have, only a plus tenders and minus tenders. Yesterday I gaine some and used some, quite normal, but I cannot see the exact amount I had before doing a purchase.

And even then we can go back to, why was I able to click Purchase yesterday, get the warning and then not have mount nor tenders enough the next day.

Sorry for letting out my frustations but a log file that would explain both the warning and the eact tenders you have in the transactin history will make it so much better of a overveiw =)

If your game still thinks you have more tenders than you actually have, it’ll let you click the button but will not give you the item.

If you go to your virtual wallet in your account management it will also show you the total you now have according to the correct calculations of the virtual wallet. It’s on the overview page for virtual currencies.

You had 1405 Tenders more than a week ago (on November 24) , and then spent 450 twice on some transmog. You earned 500 in the monthly chest, spent 450 on a transmog, and earned 100 points twice.

That’s a current total of 755.

Hope this helps.

I think this has been an issue ever since the trading post arrived. There sometimes seems to be a delay between you spending tenders, and that “spend” coming off your tenders balance. Making it look like you have more tenders than you should have.

So then when you want to buy something else, using those phantom tenders, the system is getting confused because it thinks you both have enough, and not enough, currency. I’m guessing it takes a while for it to work it out.

Basically … it’s buggy and there should be some system in place to reject purchases straight away if it detects a discrepancy. Instead it’s just stuck in a loop until someone passes by and gives it a kick.
