Went in to test some stuff on the training dummies in Valdrakken, and I am doing about 15-20 dps to them. Abilities that normally hit for 30,000 are hitting for 6-8.

Some of the dummies are incorrectly at level 1 so it’s scaling your damage to that of a level 1 character.

How does these kind of mistakes even get to live servers… What is the point of touching something that ain’t broken?
Things like this don’t happen directly. Any programmer will tell you that changing the code in one place can sometimes have unforeseen consequences somewhere you’d never expect it.
They likely changed something relatively unrelated that unexpectedly reduced the Valdrakken dummies to level 1, and a few bugged training dummies in one specific area is something that can easily go unnoticed.
In Blizzard’s case is due to poor conventional coding which is common practice nowadays.
WoW’s coding puts Dr Frankenstein to shame with everything layered on top of each other causing this “chain reaction” of issues.
In their defense it must be a nightmare to maintain and build on 20+ years of code for the MMO behemoth WoW is.
Reason why it’s necessary now, especially when passing on the code onto others for ease of reading knowing what each thing does along with some documentation.
