Traitor in WSG returns flag to horde

So I was in WSG, and I painstakingly was, almost miraculously, able to bring the flag all the way to our base. This weird warrior, let’s call it Chi Malma, started jumping next to me and saying “drop flag”.

I thought, maybe it’s tankier, and I was relieved not having to have the burden of the flag, I could focus on defending or killing EFC or something, so I give it the flag.

It turns around.

It runs as fast as it can to the horde group. Gives them the flag and dies.

I was FLABBERGASTED! WHAT did I just work so hard for? I expressed my astonishment out loud, and the response?

“whops”

This kind of treachery should be punished by a LONG (hopefully eternal) ban on all the IP addresses, MAC-addresses and surrounding area, perhaps the whole city.

What the HECK was that? Why would anyone do that? Why would this game ALLOW that and not punish it at least in some way?

BGs need ‘reward’ and ‘punishment’ mechanics that are about GAMEPLAY and BEHAVIOUR, not only about the flag itself. I mean, people have talked about this idea before, how every little thing you do in BG would be contributing to rewards. If you are near FC the whole time, you get more points. If you manage to defend FC, you get points. If you take flag to horde, you would friggin lose all your best gear items and get a 2-week ban automatically.

Holy HELL, people work so hard to win a BG, then some git comes and GIVES FREELY the hard-toiled flag (I worked SO hard to escape their stuns and such, it was pretty much a MIRACLE that I was even able to bring the flag to our base, and this moron nullifies all my hard work in a few seconds!) to horde!

I can’t understand this level of toxicity, that someone is even able to ruin the WHOLE BG for their selfish gratification! THey should AT_LEAST get a deserter buff for that! There should be a ‘report traitor’ button that has CONSEQUENCES that encompass very wide area of the account, not only the char, but the player’s WHOLE ACCOUNT.

This SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED.

IF anyone sees a warrior that has a similar name to Chi Malma (I am not saying this IS the name of the warrior, but you should be able to use this name to recognize it), BE VERY CAREFUL what you do around it - the best would be to just report it away immediately and ask everyone to do the same.

And in under NO circumstances give this traitor warrior toxic git the flag, EVER.

I will never give flag to anyone from now on, regardless of circumstances, that’s my decision. Another good thing ruined by an absolute toxic, selfish moron.

That’s the wonders of mercenary mode for you. I don’t do bgs that often yet I have encountered several horde players that queued as Alliance and did everything in their power to make us lose. What they gain from this I don’t understand.

But hey, at least the horde can have shorter queues or something. God forbid something good was Alliance only and there would be some incentive to play it.

I honestly cannot Imagine this because it still counts as a loss for the Merc
Victory > Loyalty all the way

Also this system was first put in place when Alliance had the numbers and longer queues, the system was just designed to allow it to swap depending on faction participation I think, the system has been around long enough to serve both factions

You are aware the Merc option was added in WoD, when all the good PvPers switched to Alliance for Every Man For Himself and Alliance were using the Merc system for quicker BG queues? Basically the opposite of what we have today.

But I guess it is always easier to play victim. Oh, you poor little thing.

Yeah, merc mode was added in 6.2 and, while I sometimes saw the horde merc mode enabler in Stormshield, it was rarely up. Meanwhile Alliance one in the horde town was there 90% of the time. Even though all the top dogs were humans for the racials, there was still more horde players in general.

And since Legion I’d wager the horde merc mode enabler in Dalaran has not even spawned. So yeah, might be some Alliance players used it here and there, but for the last few years, the horde reaps all the benefits while the Alliance playerbase shrinks and shrinks.

Do Ally still get a huge bonus to Honor to incentivise them or did they take that away? Same for extra bonus in WM for Ally ?

I still remember how bad it was playing Horde and doing Random BG’s in WoD, and have little or no sympathy for you.

55% H 45% A in EU actually, according to realmpop. Counting horde alts as well.

Of course we do, there’s less Alliance players than Horde, and that trend is going to get even worse, so we will always have the WM buff. The honor buff is for horde as well though, it’s just one click away.

Some of us care because some of us only do random bg’s because we like doing just battlegrounds.

I personally like doing random battlegrounds because i have no interest towards failed E-sports crap arena or rated crap which many of the people who do those take them way too seriously.

Really? They usually don’t. Was your team really going after the EFC, or was it one of those endless games of mid-fighters?

Perhaps he just wasn’t in the mood for an endless game.

Ah well, fun stuff happens when you play with randoms.

What’s the point of that? They won’t be online at the same time anyways. It’s still about the amount of active players, not the amount of chars.
