sorry for the noobie question, what effects can be removed my tranquilizing shot?

Removes 1 Enrage and 1 Magic effect from an enemy target.
It removes/can remove certain Enrage and Magic effects from enemies.
It doesn’t always work though as some effects are considered too strong for us to be able to remove. Or they just aren’t designed to be able to be removed by anyone.
A recommendation would be for you to arrange your UI to highlight buffs that are dispellable by yourself. I don’t remember if the default UI does this automatically but, many addons do. Either way, it can help you in keeping track of what you can dispel or not.
