Me and my guildies decided to change to Horde for upcomming MoP and as all servers are single faction that means we have to change it too, I am about to do a server transfer, but not everyone is going to transfer their existing characters and level up new ones instead and we planned to transfer their gold with my multiple characters so that they don’t have to start from zero. The questions is whether it breaks ToS?
Article 29162, as of a week ago, says trading gold between servers is prohibited, but does this qualify as cross-server gold trade, if they, essentially, trade gold with themselves with a proxy of my character that is transfered?
This is indeed not allowed as this isn’t your gold either.

Techically yes. In reality, risk is minimal, especially if you are all in 1 guild. Thing that can lead to ban if is this gold linked to botting or other illegal activities, not the fact of gold trade itself. If you really trust your friends that they didnt buy this gold from botters, nothing to worry about
in Warlords of dreanor we will have Items we can purchase that drop stuff on the ground that players from all realms can pick up if they are phased with you.
costs 300g and drops about 287.5g in multiples gold piles for anyone to loot.
can be used to place a egg and for anyone to loot and get a 900g vendor item.
so blizzard is telling us we cannot transfer gold but will provide us a way to do it on their terms
