Hello everyone.
I am thinking of making some gold by selling tmogs since i like running old content.
Do i have to be in a RP Server to make gold with selling tmogs because i read that they get sold quite slower than RP Servers. Oh and even though i make gold on RP servers is there a way to send gold or items between realms ?
Also do you guys think tmog farming is a good way of making gold or should i go try different stuff ?
I mean these are great and thank you for that but i think it all comes down to “Will they sell ?” because since i am not on a RP server (again im not sure if this is true i read it somewhere) i dont know if anyone will pay 5mil for a hat on a normal server.
Transmog always sells slowly, perhaps except for a select few items.
People buy transmog on non-rp realms too, but as I said, it sells slowly. Always.
Even if you get a good drop in your first run you can be sitting on that for ages, it is not a get rich quick thing, but more a good value for effort type of thing. Sometimes you’re lucky though and get something good that just sells right away, but don’t expect it.
t mog usually sells very, very, very slowly, generally speaking. its a nice addition if you sell other stuff as well though imo.
you dont have to be on a rp realm but it helps a bit. the bigger the realm, the faster you will sell things, but you ll have more competition and lower prices. so i d keep that in mind too.
If you want to make gold, there are much more practical ways than tmog farming: a horde of alts farming the mission table nets me almost 600k gold a month by now, for example. That’s 13 max level toons, 10 of which do nothing else but sit at the mission table and farm gold and rune missions (with the odd XP, herb or meat/fish mission to get materials for my mains, but those do not directly contribute to my gold income - it’s just less gold I spend). Once leveled to max, stocked up on ~1k anima and 3-5 followers, it’s a self-sustaining gold printing machine. Doesn’t print fast, but prints reliably, with next to no effort apart from the initial grind.
The initial grind is more effort than farming legacy raids and dungeons, but the rewards are pretty much guaranteed, and once you have 8+ toons farming the table, the income is pretty sweet. There’s also very little auction house involved - only the runes, and those sell like candy in my experience. Even on bad days, it’s ~350g / rune on my server, and missions usually net me 3-5 of them. I keep half for personal use, sell the rest, and enjoy the incoming shower of coin.
Hmph. I might actually start to grind anima if that is true. I spent most I got to upgrade the covenant sets.
On the real topic, I’m afraid the others are right. If you don’t play on an RP server, selling mogs is very hard. Been keeping a few items on the AH, and only managed to sell maybe 2 or 3, for 15 gold each… I do snipe mogs from the AH however, like today I managed to grab a black velvet robe for 5k instead of 85, but I generally set a price filter and buy everything under 150g. Some don’t even know how much that pretty top is worth, after all.
Look up Studen Albatroz on YouTube. That guy lives exactly what you are looking at, and obviously loves doing it.
It’s definitely not for me, but he has lots of videos about farming the best transmog.
Key point: if you want to make gold out of transmog, be prepared to keep up an inventory of hundreds of items of various values on the AH, since you will probably sell only like 1% per day.
