Transmog in lich

Sorry I was unclear, I meant in Classic, not Retail. Or do I not read your answer correctlY?

I dont really mind if transmog comes to classic early. as long I can mog cloth, leather or mail from plate. showing the immersive tones of classic then retail. opens hell a lot more fashionable options

Conservative classic andies (or No changes Thickheads) wont want it.

Read my first post in this thread ^^

It’s the same, these rules are old. It never was possible to use transforms in arena.

I don’t know the situation for rated BGs, but these arrived in the same expansion as transmog so I won’t make a guess about that.

Because it does affect our game experience.

Did you see any “conservative classic andies” complaints about the new barber shop features ? Because i didn’t. Why ? Because it doesn’t affect the game experience at all.

This depend on your “Andyness”
Me a PvE and RP Andy (I suppose I am at least, as I do not really know what do do/say to qualify as a Classic Andy) and a #NoChanger to boot, would actually welcome this change. It would not affect my game experience - unlike a load of the changes we already had - only help me have a bit more bagspace.

Transmog is litteraly the worst feature to ever be implemented into WoW. Completely removed all joy of getting new gear, removed exciment over new patches with new cool gear, and removed excitement for new expansions.

I do not agree. It enhances the joy of having something new, something that fits your fave looks.

I have always two sets of gear in my bags - one for fighting one for going to town. If transmogrification existed AND I mean totally free 'mogging Mail to cloth to leather; green, blue, grey, white gear- no limitations. If I could 'mog the ‘going to town gear’ when I got something nice, but unusable statt-vise I would only need bagspace for one set in my bags, not a zillion of spaces in my bank as well for if I one day would like a green/brown … set instead of the blue one I’m wearing today. My fighting set is a mismatch of Questing gear, random drops and vendor bought. Only good for out in the wilds, nothing I would ever show up in Thunder Bluff in.

Good idea. Could we also get covenants and conduits? Also raid finder would be nice. Thanks mr. blizzard

What killed the joy of getting new gear was new gear being absolute garbage with both stats and looks … if I were to play legion/bfa without mog I would probably not even start … not even mentioning whole dummy mythic ilvl crawl where you have one item for whole expansion …

I had a suggestion topic about it at the start of TBC.

Perhaps now that we understand that Wrath Classic may be the last addon in trilogy and only SoMs await us aheard, people would be interested in this topic.

it was added in wotlk

Transmog wasn’t added in WOTLK.

By barber shop features i mean the new cosmetic choices from retail + gender swap.

Maybe most people only remember that Barbershop was added in Wrath, not that you could only change hair / beard and iirc NE markings?

It was announced that barber shop in WotLKC will have extra features, like gender changing. Modern US politics, what can you say…

2 things to say: … symbolic policy at its worst. and not everybody reads all announcements thoroughly.

I think its not a bad idea to add transmog in wotlk but that is if majority of community supports this idea

what the bleep is/are these?

Seems like a harmless addition, but it does break against the #nochanges code. As Sandy has pointed out, being able to change your character’s base appearance (referring to the model underneath the gear) has no bearing on the gameplay itself, i.e. it is less egregious to those who resent changes to the classic experience.

If we accept this as a general truth then optional transmogrification should not be a problem. Some may say that “people will ninja gear for looks” – which is a rather silly fear to have. People ninja gear for many different reasons, and in all cases the ninja is shunned by the community. I don’t think the occurence of ninjaing will increase by any significant amount, but we should not disregard it as a potential issue.

But let’s also examine the benefits. Bolanira already listed many of them, but in short: it will give added value to running old content. It will help with player retention. Additionally, It may also attract more people to classic, as not having transmog is actually a deal breaker for some people.

In my view the benefits far outweigh the negatives, and if they implement a toggle to turn it on or off then the concerns voiced by Sandy will also be addressed. I don’t think there are any strong arguments against this suggestion. As I’ve explained in my earlier post, #nochanges is not a valid counter-argument. Not anymore.
