I have reported this issue multiple times, but it has never been fixed.
During Wrath of the Lich King , there were four PvP one-handed swords that shared the same model but had different colors . Around late 2010 / early 2011 , likely with Patch 4.0.3a (the Cataclysm pre-patch) , their appearances were changed so that all four weapons now use the same color .
Evidence suggests this is a visual bug:

Elite PvP gear historically always had unique color variants.

WoWHead screenshots show the original color differences.

Other players have also reported that the weapon colors suddenly changed at some point.

In the transmog interface, items with identical appearances are normally grouped together, but these weapons appear four times. This matches two normal versions and two elite versions, suggesting they originally had different appearances.

With the new expansion allowing Survival Hunters to once again equip one-handed weapons, I am trying once more to get this issue fixed and bring some attention to it here on the forums.
