Transmogging is now dead for me

Transmogging was a little fun element to the game, now it’s cost hundreds of gold to mog full armour + weapons. Some of us are not rich players, who have 120,000 gold mounts let alone affording 650g for a full transmog.
I guess it’s just something in the game I will have to treat as out of reach.

Idk abt that but it depends on how often you want to change your transmog.
I mean you can get the 650 gold for a full mog from one world quest.
I probably spent already millions on transmog since I change it almost daily.

You’re lucky anything happens when you press the apply button.

The cost is showing as 511g, but when i press apply it plays a noise, does nothing, and takes no good. I’ve disabled all addons, and same result. On multiple characters.

Surprised no-one else is complaining about mog being broken this morning.

[Edit] A little while later, transmog now appears to work for me - price is still steeper than it was last (game) week for equivalent work - a full set of the event armour now seems much more expensive than other characters were last week - although I will admit I dont have empirical data to support that claim.

With a few of my characters I now have got the full set of armour/weapons from the A War Within pre-launch event and quite frankly it is very ugly lol so I wanted to got to one of the pre-sets I like to use. That’s when I noticed the cost, I am quite careful with my gold, I don’t spend much time grinding for gold. So when I noticed the cost seems to have risen to 650g for a full transmog I was quite shocked, pretty much I have never paid that much before.

Thats just the cost of inflation lol. I had a toon the other day with only 32% armor durability and the cost to repair that was 400g ish.

If you can’t find gold to do a 650g transmog you’re going to be struggling to repair soon!!!

Quest, dailies, LFR, dungeons, professions (to vendor). There is a tonne of ways to make money. Some better than others. You’re a paladin, just go run some old content raids/dungeons. You’ll get tonnes of cash AND new transmog to boot.

Repairing is part of the game in the sense that armour take damage and needs repair, food/drink needs to be bought to survive (kinda) but Transmog is just a fun element to the game and is now a excessive financial cost that puts a barrier between me and that fun element of the game.

Some sarcasme now, I’m glad I play MM & BM hunter I REALLY Do not want illusions on my weapons to show off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwTmnRgK98I

Transmogging an item costs the same price as a vendor would give you if you sold it to them, and always has.

What you´re complaining about is therefore that items get higher item levels and with that more valuable every expansion, and that gold inflation in general exists.

Spend 5 minutes doing 2 dragonriding quests and you can mog even the most expensive gear. Or wait until teh trial of style rolls around and mog your gear for free then, like many gold conscious players have done for years.

Then, with all due respect, you either haven’t changed your mog in literally years, or have never had decently good equip in SL or Dragonflight, or only ever remogged single items which makes it seem cheaper than it actually is, or just never bothered to look at what it actually costs. :beers:

If this is such a huge problem for you… i would suggest you to give a try to void elfs! Half tmog cost  i know it doesn’t fix your problem but maybe it’ll help!

Nope I change my transmog quite a lot, for example I have one set I use for Paladin and once I have replaced a few items I transmog them to the set I prefer, same with my Shaman. I have never seen transmog cost (for a full set + weapons/shield) at 650g. I checked with a character that has little to no rep with Dalaran or a capital city and the cost is higher!

What I am complaining about is that something that is meant to be a fun thing to do in the game is now behind a large pay wall. Where is the fun in that?

And that´s my point, that “paywall” was always there and was never any lower /has not suddenly gone up due to some arbitrary decision. Simply because the way the T-mog system works and what items cost how much to transmog has always followed the same rules and still does.

Higher itemlevel gear >higher transmog costs, because transmog cost = vendor sale price.

This is the entire reason why heirlooms and other unsellable items cost 0 to mog wheras a current maxlevel 2H weapon costs multiple hundred gold.

Reputation has zero influence on transmog cost. The only way to influence T-mog cost is to roll void elf, whos racial makes Mogging half price. But it´s still entirely based around the vendor value of the item being mogged.

Roll a void elf: join us. We pay less for transmog. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:
