I have picked up and alt and was going through various transmogs ideas, and for a full set the price is 400g, 500g and sometimes 600g.
Why does it cost so much? It is just cosmetic and I believe it should be free of charge, the difficulty lies in obtaining the actual transmog piece or pieces, not “equipping” it!

The price of transmogging usually varies depending on the worth of the item you’re transmogging; usually it’s in-line with your gear’s vendor value.
With the exception of your artifact weapons. Transmogging those costs significantly more.
And whilst the price of transmog may seem like a lot, it really isn’t. But yes, it does work as a source of gold sinking: I imagine quite a lot of gold is funneled out of the game by people constantly changing their transmog set.
Anything under 1k is free, really.

I too agree that the price of Transmogrification needs a squish, what with the squishes elsewhere with regards to gold gain. Prior to level 45 it is extremely cheap, but it absolutely rockets after that even if you have the same ILevel gear.
Well… obviously if you do nothing you’d be hard pressed for money…
Me, on the other hand, doing a bunch of Gold WQs and the emissary often get 5-10+k in a day from just the one character…
Not if u swap tmogs 2 times per day.
yeah easy for a level 50 to say …
its not even easy for a lvl 50 because professions at this point dont reall,y pay out well.
On top of that you havver bad quest design leveling ranks iun certain gathering profs relying on rare spawns and its not 100%
I ended up with 90G on a new alt and was barely into double figures levelwise.
Are you implying it’s hard to hit 50 within a few hours…?

Ive got a friend that used to do that because he wasnt sure if he likes his tmog and changed his mind way too often.
Then after like two weeks when he lost everything he had ( it wasnt much) and went broke, he realized it was mistake.
Because sadly, it was a mistake. People should check either on appearences or WoWhead dressing room and see if they really like what they have in mind before transmogging. But yeah, I agree it could/should be alot cheaper.

Yea I think it is expensive if you compare it to anything in the barber. Changing sex is cheaper than changing clothes. I change transmogs regularly and I think it is were I spend the most, even more than consumables when I am actively raiding.
So do 1 or 2 world quests. Bam. Paid for.

Yeah, I disagree. And don’t get me wrong; free transmogging would benefit me greatly. I’ve poured many thousands of gold into that system. But still; I disagree.
Maybe not for free but not that expensive (compare to changing sex in the barber please and tell me how much it costs) and I have several millions so I am not crying over 1k stuff but I actually have to send gold to various alts regularly just because I transmog them. I don’t do worlds quest on alts.
