Traps do not trigger properly

What the title says - Traps are currently checking for a valid target to activate on every other second, instead of constantly, this results in traps taking way too long to trigger, sometimes not triggering at all, and feeling like their range is smaller than it really is.
I’ve had instances where players straight up walked on top of a trap and nothing happened.

This is not the intended behaviour, and is also why warriors charging on top of traps often don’t trigger them. Blizzard plays it off as intended behaviour, but it isn’t, it’s just netcode optimisation having the traps “tick” every X seconds instead of being well, an actual trap.

Funny thing is that traps also don’t arm properly

Traps trigger a lot of people.

But i don’t mind the word and don’t see anything offensive about it.

Bumping cause still a thing

Lets be real, there are so many bugs in this game Blizzard is never going to fix them all. Like they aren’t small bugs, there are masses of fairly substantial bugs throughout the entire game.

We are playing a wonky private server and that’s about the end of it.

I know, and frankly it’s embarassing. But I fully intend to fight for working class mechanics every day until I end up leaving this dumpster fire of a broken game

I wouldn’t bet on it. I think it just has something to do with how their client works. The issue has been persistent since classic (vanilla). For the server to recognize someting it takes ages, so you still have the issue as a druid for instance if you run out of the base in wsg, you actually have to stand still for half a second to a second for the server to recognize you are not in the base anymore, just so you can shift into travel form.

I assume the same issue happens with traps. it just takes too long for them to get recognized. I assume totems have a similar issue, but its less likely to be detected, as they usually operate a bit differently.

This is indeed exactly the current behaviour. Desolation, totems, and freezing trap slow are affected in a similar fashion. Sometimes you’re inside and aren’t affected because the server hasn’t “ticked” yet to realise you got inside.
Sometimes you get out (and I mean WELL out, like 20 yards away from the desolation) and are still slowed by it for the same reason.
WOTLK PvP is known to be something very accurate, can we not have 10s delay on gamebreaking mechanics ?

Yes, but if that is the case, I have bad news for you: they will not fix this. Ever. They haven’t fixed it in classic original, not fixed it in TBCC and I would be very suprised they will fix this now.
Even if the traps are bugged, the delay serverside will not be adressed. WotlK classic is a mediocre Pserver experience that costs 15 bucks a month and is in some parts worse than Pservers (like this delay).

It is a shame to not be able to actually replay the original games, like they really were.

Guys it really comes to what client or database wotlk classic is on. To be honest there are many many things that works still like in tbc or vanilla also there are many things that are bugged the same as some private servers out there. My assumption is that TBC classic was based on some private server with many bugs now it is updated to wotlk so we have wotlk content, talents, skills but bugs are also there.

I don’t know who to reach and how to make this louder but… BLIZZARD IS USING PRIVATE SERVER DATA WITH LIKE 1 BILLION BUGS, DOESN’T FIX ANY OF THEM AND WANT OUR MONEY, THAT’S IT. ONLY MASSIVE BOYCOTT AND EXPOSURE OF THEIR LIES WOULD DO SOMETHING.

i was kinda the same at the start of classic, that it was based on private server emulation but its probably not true like 95%
its just problem because they changed whole database system in legion or wod and we use that client and database and server structure now in classic
some fixes or spell mechanics are just probably differently implemented to match the original i guess
im not sure tho

Well anyway, we have so many bugs that are just hilarious… Pets stay in starting room on dalaran arena, masters call goes through pillar and does nothing, pet charge as a root DRs stuns LOL. It’s just exhausting

Yeah it’s their own retail client, not some pserv code. It’s obvious since stock trinitycore or azerothcore are 10x less buggy than what we’re getting on live currently.

Yeah that part is… ugh.
