Hi, I am leveling up a worgen druid and I was wondering what is faster to travel: The Stag, Running wild or a mount. Have not reached 60 yet.
I am not 100% sure but i think all these 3 are the same, the running wild and stag take the speed of your mount skill which is 60% at lvl 20 and 100% at lvl 40(if you buy the upgrade), same with flight form later on, it takes the speed of your flying skill.
Ah ok. I thought my running wild was faster. At least it looks faster. I am almost level 50.
I thought the same when i tried worgen but its just the animation the speed is the same, also welcome to wow, i hope you have a great time (even though we all know the great time is on the horde side haha)
Thanks. I recently got back after some time. Actually thought about going to the Horde.
Travel form is only 40% (and no flying) when activated in combat, battleground or arena. Otherwise itâs always your max mount skill.
Running Wild is basically a ground mount. It functions exactly the same.
Travel Form is different. If activated outside of combat and not in a BG or Arena, it will use your highest available level of mount travel. So if you use it at lower levels it will match a 60% speed mount. If you use Travel Form when you can fly, you will turn into a bird and fly at your mount speed.
If Travel Form is activated in combat, in a BG or in an Arena it will be a 40% movement speed increase on the ground and you cannot fly. This will not change when you leave combat, you will need to exit Travel Form and activate it again to get the mount benefits.
There is an item you can buy in Moonglade or the Dreamgrove that teaches you Stag Form. Functionally the same as Travel Form but it will always activate the Stag variant of the form and allow another player in your party or raid to ride on your back. This functions even in combat, BG or Arenas (I think) but will still have the same speed restrictions. It also allows you to force the ground mount form in areas you can fly.
As a side note, if you complete the Legionfall Campaign and the Class Campaign from Legion, you unlock a quest chain to get the Class Hall Mount. For Druids, itâs an enhanced flight form which allows you to carry a passenger on your back.
As a side note, going into water while in Travel Form forces you into seal form, where you gain a swim speed boost and can breathe underwater. Itâs not as fast as dedicated water mounts though, and you cannot carry a passenger. If you move out of water, even jumping, youâll go back into stag/bird form.
Anyway travel form have some benefits if you get the talent âWild Chargeâ so that:
- When you use it, every 15 seconds, you have a boost for 1 second (I think) to 285% speed;
- If you are falling you can always press Wild charge and you will not die.
If you want to know which is your speed, mounted or not, you can use the following macro:
/run print(GetUnitSpeed(âplayerâ) / 7 * 100);
This will print in the chat the speed at the time you pressed it.
Nah, itâs essentially just a ground mount. It looks faster because of the animation - thatâs all.
Worgen did not get their racial mount, instead they got running wild.
Pretty sure they have a racial mount which is, surprise surprise, another horse.
The vendor is in Darnassus near the Howling Oak, talk to Zoridormi in Darkshore to be able to get there if you need to. If you take a portal to Darnassus and have ânewâ Darkshore then you should appear right next to Zoridormi.
I got this addon called speedyGonzales
Mount speed is 20% faster with guild perk and pathfinder
Travel from will give you 100% increased speed while out of combat and 160% in combat.
