Hello guys, i want to ask you about drop rate of trinket from general Umbriss, specificaly https://www.wowhead.com/item=56440/skardyns-grace.
Actually i have 70 runs in GB +7-9 and i dropped every other items 3-5times, but trinket not dropping and i saw it drop 2 times per 70 runs for other players. I’m little frustrated, cuz it’s bis option for my DH and this trinket doing 20-25% of my dmg in overall.
In case anyone’s wondering he really DOES have 70 runs in grim batol on his DH. It’s almost biblical. Like a great tower of grim batols.

Bad news fore you on this one; as for my DH alt in Shadow lands S3 I had to farm DoS 83 times for the tanking trinket, I have warrior friends who farmed the Mist shield over 120 times and still were chasing it near the end of the season as was I for DoS trinket
Sounds about average for the current loot system that we’ve had since the end of BFA / SL. Only advice I can give is stop focusing on farming all biz items as it will just drive you mad and aim for whatever your goals are outside of that
Ye i stopped at 70, im done with it, i dont have trinket and i can fck it, but im frustrated, cuz theres not any unlucky protection and this “drops” selecting who making dps and who not.
20-25% overall dps its a lot, i have in guild guy who droped myth ara trinket last week vault and this week he droped grim batol myth one. Actually i dont have chance to make same dps as him, just only because he have lot of luck.
Ok so.
Grim batol has 11 items for DH.
Chance of getting an item is 2/5.
Chance of it being the trinket is 1/11.
2/5 x 1/11 = 2/55
~= 0.0364
Probability of at least 1 trinket after 70 runs, 92.5%
So high odds but not into statistical anomalies.
Edit: This trinket is not 20-25% DPS, not even close. It’s good but you’ll do better not scapegoating items for your performance.
Care to share how one gets invited to one of those?
Yesterday tried for 40 min just applying to all +7 GB and no luck even when i have 616 ilvl :>
For DH its 20-25% it have same cd as meta, so you macroed it with, trust me do it fcking lot, and 6900 mastery is really lot as 2nd bis stat for DHs.
You are not doing 3/4 of the damage you would if you had this trinket.
Had it once in my vault, my I went with a tier piece.
Got mine from vault.
It’s not cumulative. Each run is independent of the last. You might get lucky and get it early or you might not get it.
So if something is 5% it takes on average 20 times to get it with normal odds. But you can be lucky or unlucky.
Across all players it’s 5% but you never know if your on the lucky or unlucky side of things.
So in about 20 runs you should have the item that’s just how odds work.
Look up bell curve. You have about a 70% odds chance to have it drop in around 20 runs with 5% drop chance.
Can do the same with the odds he calculated.
I don’t want to be mean with you, but you are 616 ilevel. That is why you are not getting invited. People are all 620-625+ now. A lot of people are 2300+ io too.
Dh is also not “meta”, why would you bring a DH when you have rogues, dks and paladins doing 2x the damage.
This is the sad reality, maybe you are a really good player, but if I have to chose between a 616 DH or a 620+ dps with better io, you are not getting invited.
Again I REPEAT, I am not trying to be mean. It’s just what people do. On my DH I ran my own keys to get my IO to 2500 and I have 628 ilevel, and yes, I am getting declined a lot. Dh are just meh.
