Or how about you just admit that you want to see mages destroyed and realise triune defensive is crucial for fire to function in the current meta? You have some sort of delusion about fire’s defenses still being OP after all the nerfs, while the truth is that our every defensive option is dispellable. Nerfing triune weakens the shield significantly and makes use even more susceptible to the dispells, and it seems to come with absolutely no compensation.
Why? I have no such desire, I think that Triune is to strong, that’s it.
It’s already nerfed. Used to be 65% per shield.
I know, it’s still to good.
This nerf will allow mages to pick a different more agressive pick for legendary without feeling that they are gimping themselves as well.
Mage gameplay should be high risk high reward, Triune will still be a decent defensive pick even with the nerf.
Can you elaborate? How is +5% damage absorption any good? Do you really think that +700 damage absorption is any good? That’s two melee swings even from a cloth wearer.
I still think that you’re being super delusional in every single post you make and I can’t see any possibility that you’re not doing it on purpose.
Because Triune is more then just the absorbs, it’s three shield providing more purge protection for both defensive and offensive use and you also get the passive effect of all three barriers.
It will remain a good defensive option, it just won’t be THE option.
If by “decent defensive pick” you mean better than not having a legendary, then yes. Triune will definitely be awesome.
Dispell protection and effects of other barriers (that won’t last long if they break just from someone looking at you) when compared to something like the earth elemental legendary for resto shamans, shortened convoke cd for druids or even the increased spear duration for warriors is just a bad joke.
You’re comparing offensive with defensive tho, and spear is getting nerfed also, and hopefuly they’ll deal with the earth ele leggo in this patch.
If you feel like you want better defensive maybe just go necrolord next patch?
I’m comparing one legendary to another based on the impact they have in the games. You only have one legendary slot, so the effects you have there should be impactful. Fire mage’s DPS legendaries are either incredibly weak or too situational to properly use in arena (looking at disciplinary command and SKB here) so triune was the only strong one we had. Firestorm was fun, but ultimately too random and unreliable. If we think that triune is still too strong of a legendary effect, it should definitely come with a form of compensation unless we just want to kill a spec.
Necro fire? The skeleton is horrible for that spec and shifting power was helping us get by both offensively and defensively. It’s not too much of a stretch to say that fire is on Fae life support when it comes to its viability.
/shrug watched a arcane mage play necro on 2.4 in 2v2 the dude was near unkillable.
That’s arcane. Not fire. They also have spec-specific defenses we don’t have access to.
Ok dude this is it. Before you make next post, just go do some arena.
Time to get back on Earth from the YouTube highlights you’ve seen of Rank 1 players playing most random legendary and covenant for content. Or just ask them how many games they lost when making such video.
Same can be said of fire, it has defensive options arcane lacks.
It’s not even comparable. Far superior slows + extra movement speed + temporal shield + greater invis >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5 minute cooldown cauterize.
Please stop, you said yourself you’re 1800.
You should no be trying to lecture people, I have arena experience.
And this is not me calling you bad, you’re just not at the level where you can lecture people.
Ok so playing at 1800 makes me less important PvP enjoyer than your Rank 1 idols?
This change affects me and I know how it affects me, it doesn’t affect you because you clearly have 0 games played this season and you don’t seem like willing to change it.
Go out and try to get 1800 first as fire mage, then we can talk
You’re only like rival exp in Shadowlands yourself, though…
I’ll get it later in the season for the mog, Its not hard.
Right now I’ll rather focus my mage for pve and my alts for pvp, got my 220 ret to 1900 mmr yday so, is that good enuff or does it not count?
Yeah I mostly just grab the mogs this expansion, not really that fun to play so just get 1800 for the mogs so I do not miss out on them.
My mmr exp is a bit higher then just rival but that’s besides the point
So you play mage Arcane as main, you do PvP with Ret Paladin, and you say that Combustion is strongest CD in game? Something doesn’t quite fit.
Go ahead and do that, you can then make post comparing 220 Ret and 220 Fire on how easy it is to get to 1800. Can’t wait to see it.
I also think they should nerf ret burst, because I’m not biased, I also have alt warrior, and guess what? I think that warriors also needs a nerf.
It’s not the gotcha moment you think.
