It’s difficult to find, anyone knows if Troll are all just Voodoo casters or if there exist legit Warlocks around the Horde that are normal Trolls?
There are troll warlocks. There are actual warlock NPCs in-game who are trolls, incluiding one of the Warlock trainer NPCs in the Valley of Spirits ever since Cataclysm, who is accompanied by her imp wearing a tiki mask.
It is perfectly fine for trolls to become a good ol’ classic Fel-toting warlock. Nothing stops you from incorporating elements of voodoo mysticism into it as well, though bear in mind that of course usage of such unorthodox magics (especially regarding the spirits of fellow trolls) would potentially cause hostilities and distrust as it often can be with warlock rp.
Aren’t spirits and Loa usually a thing for priests? I mean, you could incorporate some priestly stuff with your warlock stuff, but demons aren’t spirits.
Fel is fuelled by siphoning life and draining away at the souls, no? I can imagine this not sitting well with certain Loa priests and religious trolls.
And trollish warlocks could easily incorporate shadow-based voodoo into their practice, for example.
What’s worth considering is that trolls call any spirit or divine being Loa. A troll warlock could very well mistake a demonic entity whispering to them promising power as a Loa, thus incorporating the voodoo aspect with tradcore warlockery.
In fact I think that would be a really interesting twist to it.
yeah that does sound like a dope char concept tbf, mistaking some demonic entity for some kinda loa
Is mayonnaise a Loa?
yes indeed
That depends
is the mayonnaise whispering sweet little dark truths to you?
everytime i open the fridge. it keeps telling me to spread its holy mass upon foods it was never meant to be on as the only means to gaze the infinite truth.
that was the take i went for on my warlock back around warlords/legion era, leading into the invasion. at that time, i thought that a demon posing as a loa seemed like something right up their alley to worm their way into societies to spread their corruptive influence and my witch doctor found her new loa very convincing even if others did not.
Its a solid tried and tested warlock story hook and background.
works for almost every race, but trolls get that delightful loa twist.
a good angle as well, albeit a harder one depending on your trolls tribe, is if your patron loa was killed in any events of late, leaving them with a sort of crisis of faith and possibly open to suggestive whispering from their new loa
