is it just me?
i noticed the first few times i used the AH on another players cash shop brutosaur, they would dismount quite fast. i then, for science, just opened the AH on brutosaur players and they still kept dismounting quite soon after i interacted with the character.
now, i just talk to the AH npc on any Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur to make the player dismount, and 100% record so far, they always dismount!!!
is it just me? are other players seeing brutosaur players dismount whenever someone starts using their AH? xD
what could be the reason? the only thing i can think of is they don’t want other players using their brutosaur AH? it happens with both brutosaurs, but the cash shop one seem to dismount faster than the 5M gold one.

Whenever players click on the merchant at their Brutosaur it makes some sounds so they tend to dismount yea.

I always feel guilty if I have to dismount mine and people are stood near it. I’ve even had people /w me and ask if i could mount up again. Which I’m usually happy to do.

Sssh, first “ask” for some inconvenience gold fees.

Same here, I will happily offer AH access to those around if they need to.

Strange behaviour OG mount owners used to just stand there for ages at a mailbox

I once used someones AH on their saur. Dont know if it was the new one or not. Then he disappeared so i whispered him. He said sorry but he was in a queue for pvp. But i thanked him that i was able to use his auction house for a few minutes for upgrades. It was in the new tww zone with spiders where no auctual AH is.
Btw that sound is nice. So if you want that every brutosaur player dismounts in a city just run around open their AH and move to the next one xD.
When i am on grand yak or mammoth and have the time i first check if noone is using it. Can feel bad if you didnt finish the xmog and you have to start it over.
I tend to just not use anyones AH. I just imagine the fact they could be about to set off somewhere so I just don’t bother. If I see a repair vendor sure, thats a simple 2 clicks, so I will use those. I just go to the AH, if I want to buy/sell something.
It’s nothing as sinister as OP is making out. Most of these AH mounts are being used near profession crafting stations. People summon them, use the AH to get the materials they need for all their crafting, then they pick up the mail and then have to dismount to use the crafting station.
Once all the crafting is done then they remount to pick up all the mail from doing orders and then dismount again to call a flying mount and leave.
If I see someone standing near my mount then I’ll generally leave it up, as long as its not more than a minute as they are more likely afk then.
I’d never dismount on purpose if I knew someone was using it, but for me it tends to be quick transactions for crafting rather than sitting playing the auction house, so it’s easy to dismount very soon after someone opens it if I didn’t know they were there.
What does annoy the heck out of me, is when someone parks one right on top of the crafting table because they’re too [ignorant/lazy/thick*] to move a few steps away. *select as appropriate.

I assumed they deliberately made it so players can’t select the crafting table while mounted on one of these to discourage people doing this. Maybe it can be done after all then, in which case they should make it a no-mount area like other sections with interactable NPC’s.
If you’re at the crafting table on a mount, you dismount as soon as you click on the table, but when you’re crafting and you mount, you just stay mounted on top of the table until you craft again. Would be better if there was a no mount zone around each table.
For me offering AH access to everyone was an act of protest against Blizzard overregulating the AH access to the point of making the OG Bruto an expensive fomo deal.
I remember that I was already having a problem with them not having AH in Shattrah city back in TBC to force people to keep the old capitals populated,

That’s incorrect brutosaur usage. You’re supposed to stop near a mailbox and kick off the auctioneer, then go AFK. I feared this would happen; these new store-bought brutosaur owners have no respect for sacred tradition

not in my experience. i’ve only seen em around SW AH/bank and around the anniversary area in CoT.
While i’m sure that in some cases it’s trolling, i think that in most cases it’s just a case of the player having other stuff to do than stand idle.
I just use the AH in Dornogal, the NPCs there don’t run away.
