But then I’d have to not be right
Don’t be a mean girl.
Is butter a carb?
Nevermind the Dwarf and Troll not fighting each other.
Everyone is more interested in why they weren’t holding hands.
My take is simply this: the dwarf and troll don’t represent the entirety of their factions, they only represent the parts that Blizzard wanted to depict. There’s no reason to treat them as anything more or less.
Star-crossed lovers is a fun trope, though, so maybe they should hold hands… disparity in height aside.
It was entertaining enough to see contrarians claim drama has nothing to do with roleplay, or dramaturgy.
I think it’s just a rather awkward attempt to hint back at the MoP cinematic and there’s little more to read into it tbqh.
Trolls will always be lesser.
“Hey guys so I think I will sit out of this conflict and-“
“Nooooo they said it’s hard to stay neutral it means you have to fight with us or you’re a traitor!”
Never seen that around.
I’ve been thinking what caused this. I recall reading that drug cartels (okay, we quoted sports and drama, now let me quote this topic)’s tendency to resolve conflicts with violence is increased by the fact that there is no “legitimate” way to resolve conflicts (read: a tribunal).
And I think a lot of the RPers’ tendency to be aggressive and stubborn in disagreements is to force their way upon others because deep down, both know that there isn’t a rulebook for role-play and that can be very concerning when a disagreement rises on the surface.
So, about that hill…
There are also people out there (and in this very thread) who seem to suggest that all other forms of conflict in RP are worse than faction-based conflict, which basically implies that the RP of those who do not participate in faction-based conflict is inferior to the RP of those who do.
So, both sides of the argument can be considered guilty of telling the other how they should be roleplaying, or that their form of roleplaying is lesser.
An anecdote: Some of the worst RP I’ve ever witnessed on this god forsaken realm was during faction-based conflict.
Relying on the definition of a term by an unrelated field of study to condescendingly make an argument, then hard-committing after being roundly challenged is just a self-inflicted L by that point anyway. It doesn’t require any further response.
I don’t want the Alliance and Horde to be friends. I want them to be salty stubborn arseholes like Genn.
Antagonize the idea of mandatory peace.

Say hi to Kate Bush for me.
The first link doesn’t say they are the same thing though. It simply speaks of both RP and drama because they do share similarities, and no one denied that.
The second link in your search literally presents a difference between the two, the title being: Role-Play and Drama: What’s the Difference?
The denial yet holds…

I don’t think going on about dramaturgy in relation to role play on Argent Dawn was the W you thought it was going to be
