TRP3 Troubles

Hello everyone!

So, just yesterday I switched my laptop and due to complications with the transfer, I could only bring a very limited amount of things from one PC to the other. One of the things I saved was my TRP3 Lua, which I saved in a pen, and wanted to put back once I had reinstalled twitch and TRP3.

However, I can’t seem to find the files to do this, that is, I can’t find the TRP3 files after doing this.

If anyone knows where they are, I would be most grateful.

Edit: Okay, so good news! I managed to find my old PC and got the old WTF data from it. Just to make sure I don’t screw up, what should I do to properly transfer it?

Did you move the WTF file too? I think it’s called… I’m not sure. I think everything is stored there and just moving that moves all the data over.

The data addons store is saved in the WTF Folder under SavedVariables. If you didnt backup those I got bad news.

I copied everything within the TRP3 folder, but I’m not seeing any WTF in there… is supposed to be somewhere else?

Either way, I can already probably guess I just lost it all, but… just in case.

WTF folder holds all your addon data and is one of WoW’s common folders. Retail > WTF and it should be there.

Your friends could also search up your TRP3s before they update in-game for them. And take screenies of them if it’s truly dire.

That could have worked, except every single one was offline at least once since I swapped. Still, thanks for the suggestion!

Move all TRP files inside \WTF\Account\youraccount\SavedVariables of your old PC into the \WTF\Account\youraccount\SavedVariables of your new one.

Files such as totalRP3.lua, totalRP3.lua.bak and so on.

I looked inside it and there is no “your account” in there. After entering “account” there is a bunch of folders with seemingly random numbers and one with an empty “savedvariables” folder.

After opening the first kind of folder, they seem to have a list of folders with the server names and another with “savedvariables” again, and within the first of those there are a bunch of folders with my characters (game, not trp profiles)…

Didn’t find any “totalRp3.lua” or “totalRP3.lua.bak” in any of the folders within WTF.

Thats the key. The seemingly random numbers are your accounts. Pick the one you had TRP on, check for the files. They must be in there somewhere.

Here, have the list of the files from my folder. Search for them in your entire WoW folder if needed, but they must be in there.

Alright, just found them, and considering the file size I think they are the right ones. Now, just to be absolutely sure, which files should I copy/transfer exactly?

All that are related to TRP3. The ones in my screen include TRP3 Extended. Just look for the ones u got that are shown in my screen and you should be fine. Transfer from the old WTF to the new one.

just move over the whole addon saved from old pc into new wtf folder
