I haven’t played Rogue in a few years, and i fancied playing it again. I’m a filthy casual, so i’m not too concerned with PvP right now. So i never really played a Subtlety Rogue to be honest. I’m level 28 now and got some talents spend and have a grasp of the abilities now. Thus i decided to walk through the talent tree to plan ahead how i would like to build up the talent tree.
In general i go stealth, i use cheap shot, use backstab to gain points. Then use rupture for the damage over time and i use the lethal poisons to add to that. Hence the poison talents. And after that followup i then build up backstabes use eviscerate to damage.
And one more level and i will have gloomblade, which ignores armor which is insane!
This is what i came up with for PvE: https://www.wowhead.com/talent-calc/rogue/subtlety/trickster/DANURVVVUFQUZiBRCUAOVVVUVUFQFQRChEBQEFVVUCEQDhWhmgwgThXqN
I want to build it around gloomblade and shadow damage. I’m enjoying Shadowblades, Symbols of Death and Shadowstep, thus i wanted to focus on the talents concerning them.
Gloomblade, Weaponmaster and The Rotten together sound amazing with them.
Perforated Veins requires you to use gloomblade/backstab for 4 times and the 5th will have increased damage. Honestly i don’t build them up that long yet with my current level. That’s why it sounds quite over the top to me to use gloomblade 4 or 5 times in a row.
Also can you use other moves inbetween and still trigger Perforated Veins?
And Weaponmaster in combination with the hero talents of Trickster’s Unseen Blades sounds very powerful to me. To just stack extra attacks in that sense. And Nimble Flurry making you hit multiple enemies at once. This sounds like mustard on the meat.
I’m not sure if i would like Shadowcraft or Danse Macabre. But i prefer to hit one or two times with backstab to make use of different finishing moves like rupture, slice&dice, kidneyshot and finish with eviscerate. Thus i would think Danse Macabre would be preferable.
Because there is not many effects for Shadowcraft to trigger more frequently. I imagine Weaponmaster because it is the only one with chance whatsoever. Thus Shadowcraft seems a bit out of place. It’s not like my main Sanlayn Blood DK where i have to build up things to get increased damage and healthstealing.
And Trickster sounds like the chef’s desert as adding to Subtlety, can’t wait to experience that. Basically this is going to be one sweet shadow ninja.
Again this is more PvE focused for now. I’d love to see suggestions and feedback what you think of this build. And advise to some of the questions like Perforated Veins, and Shadowcraft vs Danse Macabre. Thanks in advance.
