Trying to disable authenticator

My mobile won’t let me disable my authenticator, the android app just doesn’t work. I tried uninstalling the virus software on my phone, because someone said that could be causing the problem.
But now it keeps saying “Oops, something went wrong”… WHAT, WENT WRONG, PHONE? TELL ME!
I’m going insane.
I want to disable the authenticator, because it doesn’t work anymore, but I need to log in, using the authenticator… do you see the problem here? I need the authenticator to fix the authenticator. It’s like a raid group telling you that you need to have done the raid to get into the raid, but how can you ever get into it?

I’m absolutely miserable right now, I was just trying to log into WoWhead to comment something helpful, instead, I’m trying to log in, it keeps saying too many requests, it keeps telling me I need my authenticator, my authenticator keeps breaking or going on infinite load times.

Please, tell me how to fix this. I can’t access the tickets on the website, because to do that, I need my authenticator… Who designed this utterly stupid system?

“Security check” only option, authenticator.

Please can someone help, I’ve been at this for ages, I’m in tears. I don’t want to lose all my effort, all my years on this game, because my phone is useless.
So much time and work, so much money. All gone, because of this stupid authenticator, I’ll even give up the 4 bag slots, I just don’t want to lose it all.

Edit: I’ve managed to get it disabled thanks to afriend, but please. For the love of all that is unholy… Fix this. This was a travesty to fix. This needs to be easier. The android app doesn’t work properly. It’s abysmal, it’s absolute Expletive for defecation, since it told me I couldn’t post swear words. Fix it.
Now. to hope I can get it working so I have the bag spaces, but don’t need to use the authenticator, because holy crap, this has been painful.

Is there a customer support link somewhere for this? In the past, a quick phonecall or email to/from customer support fixed this. With the removal of those options, there must still be a way to remove broken authenticators (phones can randomly die etc). Hopefully someone can post a link?

I did manage to fix this by accessing the support by being already logged in on my computer. If I was not, then I have no idea how I would ever have gotten this fixed.
It’s a truly abysmal system. I just feel terrible right now. I come on this game to help with stress, not add to it. And today, it’s really ruined my day.

Interesting, I still cannot geet the authenticator to work on my phone, even though I am logged in.
It still says “Something went wrong”.
Or it loads forever.
This is such a poor system. Blizzard, surely the ability to log in is an important one, maybe you should fix that one?

Hey Rabadu,

You can submit a ticket on the support site, even if you don’t have access to your account (otherwise nobody could ever contact us to recover an account they don’t have access to).

Thanks, I’ll keep a note of that link for future, and also for friends who wind up with the same issue.
Trying to do that with my phone was extremely frustrating.

Despite support having answered already… You keep speaking of it as “the authenticator”. and said the android app doesn´t work…

Might be a long shot, but: Are you possibly still using the standalone Authenticator app? This was merged into the battle.net app and deactivated as a standalone app almost a year ago… :beers:

Sadly no, was using the bnet app. It was just being complainy on my phone unfortunately. Requiring the authenticator to log in, but also being the authenticator, very circular problem.
