Nothing on twitter, nothing on wowhead, nothing on the WoW forum. Nothing in the bnet launcher either. Yet the servers are down right now, when it’s not the regular weekly maintenance.
What’s happening? Is rated xfaction being turned off again?

Down for me as well, seems like an unexpected crash or a server reset for some reason.

There was an in-game announcement 15 minutes prior that the servers will be shutting down. So it’s done intentionally by Blizzard.

I dont get what’s going on shutdown every night recently … so far no explanation on why?
I do it more often than you’d think, and it doesn’t do it at the night between Wednesday to Thursday.
This isn’t the weekly maintenance, that was last night.

Daily resets do not equal server shutdowns/resets. This doesn’t happen every night.

ah yes maintance restart is what they call it and its daily at 3 am
I see the Server Shutdown message and checked my bnet app, there was a message across the top saying the servers would be down and unplayable for an hour, but I only noticed it after the message in-game, and the times didn’t match up lol scuffed indeed.

Correct. But this isnt the first time this happens, especially unannounced. I dunno, but I feel its like the day after each Patch, for maybe 30mins. Hotfixing the hotfix.
I dunno what game you’ve been playing but I’ve done many all-nighters and rarely does it reset randomly. Usually only on the weekly reset.

this has happened the last 2 weeks wed into thur with no announcement except for the 15min clock 
anyway insist all you want but this is perfectly normal granted the servers are generally up again after 15 minutes

It really isn’t. What happens daily is the lockout reset, and that occurs at 9 A.M. The servers stays online when it isn’t the weekly maintenance, which is only at night (sometimes lasting 'til morning) during the night between Tuesday to Wednesday. In other words, it was last night.
The only times they shut the servers down outside of the weekly maintenance, is when they need to apply urgent changes. Which does not happen every night.
