Trying to set up Authenticator

Fellas, it’s not working…
It’s late, and I’m trying to play the game…
I’ve downloaded the app…
I got the serial number…
I go to Battle net website…
I click “set up a mobile authenticator”…
You send a security code to my email…
I type it in…
Then I’m told to type in serial number and authenticator code…
I type in the serial number…
I open my app and click “enter code manually”…
I assume that’s the authenticator code, I don’t know…
I type it in…
I click “submit”…
I am told my serial number is invalid…
I double check on my phone…
It’s the same number…
EU-1234-bla bla bla…
I can’t set up the authenticator…
I’m trying to play the game…
But I can’t play the game…
I’m getting frustrated right now…

Make sure both the serial and authenticator code are correct. Note that the code is only valid for about 20-30 seconds and you need to submit before it changes.

It still says my serial number is invalid. But it’s the exact same. I’m looking at my phone right now.

Should I reset the authenticator maybe?

This would help. If you haven’t added an SMS number and enabled SMS alerts, this could also help here.

Okay, detached the authenticator, removed my phone number, uninstalled the app.
Re-downloaded the app, added phone number, attached the authenticator.
Says authenticator is ACTIVE on my battle net account.
Got a new serial number.
Set up mobile authenticator.
Type in serial number and authenticator code.
Get the message “the serial number is invalid.”
Still can’t make groups in-game.
Logged out from WoW, logged out from battle net.
Logged in again.
Still can’t make groups in-game.
Detached the authenticator. Removed my phone number. Deleted the app.
Great game you have.

Hi there,
Have you added your phone number to your Battlenet account -
for example

Name
address
phonenumber <—<

it may be that you are trying to add a authenticator to your account without actualy adding the phone number under your Battlenet account details.

That may help your issue.

If that`s not added, you will be sent a code to your mobile number to authenticate it and then try the Battlenet authenticator.

I’m also having this problem. The ‘add an authenticator’ page says my serial number is invalid, that it must be numerical. But the serial number I has is EU-2205 etc, so it’s not numerical. I’ve tried removing the dashes, removing the EU but nothing works. Still says my serial number is invalid. My phone number is linked to the account, I’ve tried about 10 times.

If anyone have problems with this, dont use - - - - signs on your serial number

Not EU1234-1234-1234-1234
but EU1234123412341234

this was my problem, and probly yours. Have a good day
