Turn on Deathlog addon people

It is really fun, feels like getting tuned into a news ticker :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn’t it too distracting?

you can configure it, for example only show deaths above lvl xyz and make it smaller. but you do get the benefit of being able to check out where and how ppl die

It should definitely be an official togglable feature.

Default setting is, but I have it set to show a small and simple notification above chat window “Gary the Mage has died at level 22”

I had it on for about an hour, then disabled it.

Its come to the point that it does not even matter. It was fun seeing your guild deaths and the last messages, but when you see deaths pop up every 2 seconds it becomes normalized and redundant.

It’s nice that you can hover over their names to see their last words. I like to imagine what happened in the moments leading up to the death.

I think Deathlog add a bonus to Hardcore.

Knowing that players are currently dying is a good reminder that death is always lurking, thanks to a bad decision or simply bad luck.

Plus we can make it less invasive in the options, turning off sound notification (they could have added an easier way to it btw, like a box to uncheck), etc.

And seeing people last words is also kind of fun. I remember mine were “thanks but I’ll do it alone” (only to die the next minute…).

You can disable the mid-screen notification and sound. As well as the heat-map leaving only the list on the right. And statistic/heatmap in their own menu.

I turned off main list, sounds too and made notifications it a bit smaller by changing font size and moving everything to the top. Yet it serves it’s purpose of reminding me to not be balsy and look around.

Yesterday saw first tin node in Silverpine forest, but addon notification and my guts told me to look around first. There were 3 bodies of an orc warrior, troll hunter and some forsaken caster lying around that node. And then I saw him. Scull level elite worgen called Son of Arugal :dracthyr_nervous_animated:. I waited for him to go away then made 1-2 chipping from the node with my pickaxe and stepped back thus got the vein in 3 turns.

As a side effect it also allows me to take cool screenshots, because somehow hiding interface doesn’t hide Deathlog death warnings. A look at the see with a lone forsaken fisherman a full moon and someone dying at that moment in Barrens.

Exact same

The sound is always present in my ear , all 5 seconds if I don’t play “düing”

Deathlogs great.

I do wince alittle when i see. 40+ die however, i can only imagine the frustration lol.

Ive set it to only alert 25+ because deaths below that is irrelevant imo. Also make it less annoying to see lvl 6 death spam.

I had it for about 15 min, it was extremely annoying with the pop-ups and sound as well as discouraging seeing all the 30+ people losing days of their free time to regular mobs or cooking fires. Seeing the guild alerts is quite enough for me.

It can kill you? OMG

Not the crafted ones, those would be used to grief afk people in inns etc. if that were the case. I meant the sources of fire in the world, like hearths, fire pits in Ironforge and the like. People die to those all the time according to that addon.

I like the reminder, but I quickly turned of death under lvl 10, then lvl 15, and now that people start to lvl, anyone that dies before lvl 30 is not giving notification anymore. I think you can also adjust how you get the notification.

The deathlog window is buggy. You can’t resize it without it bugging out. And I want a clean UI, so removing borders and stuff on the window would be awesome. Also the announcement graphic is just annoying. I couldn’t get the thing to stay the size I wanted, everytime I logged in it was set to default again, middle of the screen and covering a 5th of the screen.

Reduce the warning font size.
