Edit: Just requesting that any extremely rare cosmetics, if not all cosmetics, should be unlockable on any class regardless of armour type. Whether it costs extra money at a specific NPC to add them as a gold sink or whatever, this would be a handy feature for a lot of us. I DO NOT want to be able to wear any armour type on any class (though it wouldn’t bother me either) just to be able to add them to the collections.
I just got the Tusks of Mannoroth on my monk and god damn am I mad to find out this item still hasn’t been pushed into cosmetic status.
Are you kidding me? One of the rarest cosmetics in the game and I have to vendor it because I got it on a leather character?
You could at least have made them account bound like you loved to go crazy with during MoP. Now I’m just beyond disappointed. This sucks.
Oh there’s no chance. I am begging they change them.
I don’t want to use them on a leather character, I’m fine with the plate restriction, but please god let me add them to my collection. This feels garbage.
You never know what’s going to happen in the future. Could be years in the future, but you’d feel better knowing you still have them hidden away in your void storage somewhere. Than waking up to the news that you can learn the appearances for other Armortypes, knowing full well that you vendored them years in the past.
Yeah legit killed my WoW mood in seconds so I can definitely imagine. Just been leveling alts all month to get them to 70 while attempting to get the timewalking mount and now I’m not even motivated for that because of how dumb this is and how simultaneously lucky/unlucky I got.
I’ll just find something else to play for now haha.
Yeah not wrong, it’s dumb design but I’m the idiot for not expecting this. Before I even did the dungeon I considered switching to a plate character but “the odds are so low that I shouldn’t worry”. Of course I shouldn’t have messed about.
They should honestly change the void storage so it costs more but anything put in there is collected across the account. That would make it more useful than holding your old armour you miss and would only really be convenient for being lazy in most situations beyond this. It would be a good gold sink if it cost a few thousand gold just to save you running a raid on an alt.
I had Garr’s binding from MC drop on my mage during MoP
I kept it in my bank hoping the class restriction to be lifted and it was
I then continued the grind for Gedon’s
That was in BFA or SL can’t remember exactly
Giving any of us in this situation a little bit of hope, you’re not wrong. Not being able to xmog legendaries was never going to happen and that did I suppose. And crazy enough, Blizzard was wrong and no ones immersion was broken by people running around wearing them.
And yeah, at this point I don’t see any point in restrictions after unlocking the ugliest vomit green PLATE LOOKING shoulders from Korthia and being able to use them on any class. I can wear THESE but I can’t wear two tusks because of their immersion. OK then.
Not just all of this but the extremely limited colour options we have with every armour type at this point is a huge joke and allowing anyone to wear anything would at least give a fighting chance in character customization. People can potentially make way nicer outfits instead of “I would use this but the shade of brown doesn’t match and the purple is more of a blue so I’ll just use the matching set piece with no creativity” (coming from a dude who has never changed from his MoP Challenge mode gear because why would I?)
AND on top of all of THAT, we’ve now got the trading post which you can spend an entire months tender on an flashy “MAIL” armour set restricted to one class armour type while I can wear magical VERY MUCH CLOTH robes from the in game store on my WARRIOR? It just gets worse the more I think about it
Yeah man I hear you… Legacy tmog feels so messed up. One of the main reasons I struggle to start non plate classes is literally because of tmog. This dk being my main, I’ve collected loads of nice armours throughout the years, then I log on my rogue and he looks like a clown (no not the TP mog ) On this character I’ve had a lot of those awesome dark shaman armours drop… On my shaman nothing…
I would personally advocate for legacy loot to be account wide cosmetics just like TP stuff. I’ve cleared ToS and ICC so many times on my DK, do I literally have to do it another 100 times on a cloth, leather and mail class?! It’s not good replaybility, it’s just boring grinding.
PS: still hoping to get the tusks of Mannoroth for my Mag’har orc warrior one day… One can hope!
What’s the point of your comment? You feel tough or something? Ever occurred to you that just because “the world isn’t fair” doesn’t mean our games should be punishing and frustrating too? Show some empathy. It’s not even anything to do with active or competitive content, just collectors having fun.
Has nothing to do with empathy really. He made a choice to go there with his leather character, knowing full well the final boss in SoO drops those tusks, as well as a mount. I find it hard to show empathy for a deliberate choice that was made. Sucks that it happpened, but c’est la vie.
