I’ve mentioned this before, but there really needs to be some help for (new) players when they enter epic battlegrounds. The last year there has been no progress in players knowing what to do. Which results in:
Your team: Vehicles: 3/16
Not using cannons or destroying cannons
Not using cannons on vehicles
“What is solar?” (at least the player asked)
Not capping graveyards but afk-ing outside boss in Alterac Valley
Standing in front of enemy base in Isle of Conquest
The list goes on.
Even if you explain (parts) of the BG, I’m experiencing the same things the next BG and losing because of it.
Well, the meta changes over time and with differences to classes and HPS/DPS relative to health pools at the time.
That, plus Blizzard’s history with “tutorials” for PvE, means a tutorial for PvP wouldn’t really help.
But a mentorship program built into the design of the game for PvP would naturally keep up with changes to metas on its own since people with experience would be the “supply” meeting the “demand” of the people new to PvP.
Blizzard isn’t really so great at innovative designs for PvP systems though.
PS:
A mentorship program would also help a lot for the PvE side of the game.
as other many around-wow-activities/tutorials/guides, blizzard will ignore this one as well leaving it for enthusiasts, it’s quite sad, but blizz doesn’t even try to change this situation.
who knows, if their potential might be able to attract new players with those guides being friendly to novices and keep them play
