If this was a permanant addition to the game then the system is fine but it isn’t and so far the experience is lacking. Can’t get anything before it ends unless you no life trough it.
Why?
While i dont agree with the way chickenwing said it, I do agree that we should not get everything from just logging in or minimum participation.
If you want the rewards, play the content and get good at it.
No, that’s how some people are, like in all other games and things in life.
Dota ripoff you mean since they made it as a response when they lost all rights to that.
They’ve even gone as far as to change the ToS of warcraft reforged thingy, so they own all the maps and so on we create in the map editor
I feel like there’s a fair middleground to find between participation trophy and FOMO hamsterwheel but I also think that blizzard wants it to be a fomo hamsterwheel
this isnt fun to grind, gave up on the mode until blizzard balances things out.
getting somewhere between 0-500 per match & every time i meet another player they have some sort of stun combo that kills me pretty quick.
the only times ive reached that 500 were when i found the bush item that just cloaks you from the enemies & some of the players, so you can just go & collect the gold piles on the ground.
well, here’s hoping the rewards end up on the trading post at some point…if you actually have to be good at PVP to get anything? Ive got no chance!!LOL
Call me crazy but I just dont enjoy being killed repeatedly, its just not ‘fun’.
It seems like such a boneheaded decision…knowing a huge majority of your retail playerbase are PVE players, hyping up content that most of them will not enjoy.
But maybe it will be fun?..maaaaaybe???
erm wow is all about getting stuff, are you crazy? this is a vast majority pve game and always will be. to keep this a secret was foolish beyond belief.
being a tourist is even worse
That you got excited for something the dragonflight team cooked up is your own fault.
Should know retail is just disapointment nowdays.
I’m not sure I’ll even do one of these. Might try it just to see but I’m thinking probably not just now.
My hope is that most of these rewards will end up on Trading Post at some stage.
The idea of doing content you don’t really want to do in order to get some cosmetics feels off to me. Players who like this type of content should do it for fun.
Yeah, I’m with you. At least this style of game is better than regular pvp in so far as you only get killed once…
Okay, so now I have played this for a bit, and yep, the rate at which plunder is earned is too low. You can very feasibly get killed before you even have 200 plunder, so you’d need 10 games of this for a renown level. And there are 40 of them. Granted, not every round will go this poorly, but with how random this is (especially when playing solo), how impactful levels are, and how imbalanced some of the abilities are vs. others, many will.
This should have been on the PTR for proper testing beforehand. Secret content patches are just not a good idea for Blizzard games (nor for games from most other developers).
Are you honestly and whole heartedly that annoyed that there is a new PVP game mode, when PVE is refreshed every expansion and every season, whereas PVP’ers havent gotten a new BG since what… 2018?
Theres MAYBE a new arena thrown in every once in a while, but PVE’ers get 4 colour varients of tmog, more mounts for PVE content, they even tied the legendaries behind raid bosses?.. Like come on, its 1 patch where its more PVP focues and PVE’ers are having a meltdown xD
While it’s a fun idea, the speed at which you gain renown is atrocious.
I don’t enjoy PvP. It doesn’t do me good. I get very frustrated, anxious and my blood pressure skyrockets if I get killed over and over – which is the case with Plunderstorm now.
I’m -not- good at PvP, but Plunderstorm offers a new reputation track AND a lot of cosmetics which is something I have to do. I’d be ok if the speed of gaining these rewards was faster, but right now I’m forced to participate/do something I am not really enjoying for a very minimal reward because I get killed -very- fast.
This is a video game. Video games are NOT jobs. Video games are there for FUN, to kill a bit of time and generally have a good time.
People need to understand this.
Only that it’s not. SL was a massive fail. DF actually redeems retail in my eyes. Up until now most PvE content was nice imo.
i jsut love how peopel on us forums are ganuinly giving advices like - ignora pvp - run aroudn colled 250 coins and then run straight into storm to not give rewards to pvpers
whats a failure its comical .
they fired 900 people honest workign peopel instead team responsible for this abomination
How in the name of all creation are you loosing in 40 seconds? You landing in the storm?
Just aim for 1 of the towns and run around grabbing gold spamming attack I do that and get 3-600 a match
You would also need to do 500000 games
people figured out which mobs to go for instant for meta powers which have set spawn points and are playing in discord premades moving like group securing top places and trading 1st place between each other .
so they start massacring pve players the moment they land / start moving
plenty of people on us forums are reporting this from morning and end up with 0 plunder as effect
I get that but there are dozens of locations you can drop at that have no powers and are just good for farming rep. Sounds to me like the op just needs to plan where they are dropping better
This is based on an observation through watching streams as well as getting to renown 4 myself. It’s based purely on the numbers from my games and games of streamers I’ve seen win games.
Based on the increase in the points needed, it’s about a 12.74% increase per level.
The total points needed to reach level 40 is approximately 2,089,780.
Since winning a game gives about 960 (on a good game, confirmed through a stream)
And a game lasts about 10 to 15 mins
It would take approximately 362.8 to 544.2 hours to reach level 40 if you’re winning.
For losing say you get to the 10 min mark you have between 300-500 points.
It would take between approximately 870.7 to 1306.1 hours to reach level 40
