Tweak the reward system in Plunderstorm

I appreciate the effort and development time invested in this.

I don’t like PVP, and I wouldn’t even touch this if it weren’t because there are nice cosmetic rewards tied to it.

I have tried it (with my US sub) and am literally losing 20 seconds right after beginning the match. I am gaining 40 plunder at most per match. I am NEVER going to obtain the rewards I want.

Could we please:

  • have a minimum reward (say, 100 plunder) simply for participating?
  • triple the amount of plunder earned per match?

Bear in mind that most WoW players are not PVP focused, yet this is the only “content” you have offered us for the following month. Make it easier or more accessible for us PvE folk.

Thanks.

I haven’t played it yet. Looking forward to trying it out after maintenance.

I have watched US streamers, though, and it does seem that too much plunder is needed to progress through the renown levels. Some of them have played for three+ hours, won a bunch of matches and generally finished in the top 10 at least, and aren’t even at renown 5 yet (of 40).

I don’t know if there should be a minimum reward for just participating (I feel this would promote actual afk farming), but I think the plunder from mobs should probably be increased or the required plunder per renown level decreased. I’d be surprised if that doesn’t happen within the next few days, if not hours. The feedback on the forums are negative, though the streamers all love it.

Is this what retail players are like?

They just want participation trophies for everything?

Did the thought ever occur to you that maybe you don’t HAVE to get the cosmetics and maybe you don’t DESERVE to get the cosmetics if you don’t want to engage with this pvp content?

Do you also complain you can’t farm gladiator gear for transmog?

Sheesh after reading all these retail babies cry about this mode I sure am glad I don’t play retail. YIKES is all I can say.

So says the Classic players that endlessly whined about whatever.

That would stimulate afking.

its just grinding I guess

They said in their detailed blog video that the grind is set to be doable 1 level per day. So getting 5/40 levels in one day is already damn fast. That’s just 8 days playing.

yes. like every game should.

:joy::joy::joy: I loled

Yes, That’s how retail players are.

Why are you guys even here?
The issue is that the ‘big secret event’ they teased us with for so long is literally a ripoff from games that have existed for years on top of it being pvp only. Don’t want to burst your bubble but the majority of the playerbase doesn’t like pvp so their ‘hype’ is way off, looking at how people are complaining on here, us forums, reddit and even ingame, yes even inside plunderstorm.

Tying a big bunch of great cosmetics, one of the cornerstones of wow retail, to a very niche limited time event is not good game design, even moreso because it’s pvp.

Not to mention it plays very clunky and our game settings from regular wow don’t even carry over.

Are you new to blizzard games?

That’s literally what blizz has been doing forever.

Overwatch is just a ripoff from TF2
Hots is lol ripoff.
Wow is a EverQuest ripoff.
Dragon flight flying is ripoff from Gw2.

This is what blizzard does bud.

And BR’s are awesome and a lot of fun. Sorry to break it to you but pvp games are infinitely more popular than PvE games.

Probably a smart idea of blizz to branch out more into pvp stuff

GJ cherrypicking one thing I said while ignoring all the rest. WoW is a PvE game at heart, like 90% of it. I suppose you’re blind or blatantly ignoring all the criticism people have.

Even if what you’re saying would be true in a wow setting (it’s not), it’s implementation is terrible and it plays very clunky.

Looks fun to me. And the war in Warcraft is based around the conflict between the two factions.

Pvp was deeply woven into vanilla and the core wow design.

I get it. Retail is this softboy PvE game now. If I was blizz I would make efforts to bring in some fresh players from different areas too.

You retail PvE Andy’s seem exhausting.

No it wasn’t. It was an afterthought the devs implemented because people were ganking flightpoints. It took us half of vanilla to even get BG’s, and to keep the pvp fans busy they made the grind so huge they even said in TBC ‘let’s not do that again, it’s unhealthy’.
90% of the wow content is PvE, as it always was.

Swing and miss. I play all versions of wow, and have played classic from start to ICC.
You’re just trolling at this point

Ohh we got a pvp badass over here! Look people!! /s
You sound pathethic tbh

The entire design of the map and quests were literally tailored to create open world pvp encounters.

It was absolutely not an afterthought bro :joy:

I played wow since 2005. I stopped in cataclysm. And came back for SoD.

I tried retail for a few months when dragonflight came out and it was the most bizarre gaming experience I’ve ever had.

Jesus Christ… What happened to this game in the time I’ve been gone. Retail is disgusting

Now I’m 100% sure you’re trolling. You can’t be that dense…
Sure buddy… original wow vanilla was a pvp game.
Go back to league of fortzone or something

Yet here you are, on the general retail forums.

It was a PVx game. Yes.

there is nothign wrong with afk famring renown if pve players were forced into this with blizz knowing very well they will be nothing but cannon fodder for pvpers.
