one of my friends decided to try WoW a couple of days back, i gave him some gold for plate looms since he wanted to play warr and we did some dungs and whatnot. He didnt like dungeons and i suggest we level through PvP,
to make a long story short, first match guy on our team says ‘‘enemy team is twink premades gg’’ and tells everyone how they have been going on all night and yea we got completely stomped, camped at GY and they kept farming kills until like 10 seconds in when they caped last flag.
after that we do a couple of other matches, this time i spend some gold on enchants and stuff for me and my friend
wont work, i open up on a lone hunter and i barely take 30% of his health before he kills me ( i had full health)
after the same stuff after a couple of matches my friend goes ‘‘Nah, this game doesn’t seem that fun’’ i try explaining to him that gear matters in this game and he has to grind ‘‘dude there are like one hundred levels, i dont wanna grind for hours just to be able to have a leg to stand on, and you said that there are level brackets or something? dont wanna repeat that man sorry about the wasted gold’’
apparently he told a bunch of other people about our terrible experience, some in the same friend circle so now i have to play alone
whats so wrong about adding XP off queues? ‘‘hurr hurr not enough twinks’’ then make the team size smaller? all these twinks are just a bunch of sociopaths that enjoy ruining it for others
If any of your RaF friends quit the game before endgame aka ding 120 , then its good that he left and he didnt waste more of your time.
Why do you even wanna play with a casual player like him anyway?
People need to understand that game starts after you ding 120.
Then you can farm your own gold , solobuy your own looms based on the 2nd alt you wanna make , you realise how random bg / dungeons mechanics work etc.
Its good that these noobs quitted the game early in conclusion.
then again the game is not even designed to level trough battlegrounds in the first place, heck could remove exp from bgs, though this probably kills off low level battlegrounds totaly.
I agree with you there. First time I tried out pvp was while I was leveling in vanilla, I pretty much just got one shot as soon as I stepped out of the wsg tunnel.
After that game I sort of figured that the pvp side of game might not be for me and stayed away from it… at least until level 60 when I tried out AV, and that’s when I discovered that pvp was actually the best part of this game.
Even if I personally don’t really care about low level pvp I think they should at least try to make the experience a bit more pleasant. Make gear matter, but still not let some spec’s run rampant and become far too tanky and/or one shot others. Low level pvp can be an introduction to pvp and shouldn’t be too crazy.
I understand the whole twink hating from past, but these days is really out of place with the scaling.
Gear doesnt have that much of a value compared to past, and its mostly about specs being borderline broken at low level.
For example having fully decked out characters dying to axe throw spam , by said random levelers.
Priests being demigods despite players not having an idea how to play them and so on.
The last time gear truly mattered was in WoD. And even before that the whole concept of “farming” turned into mostly competitive games between twinks, since they got their separate bracket.
Legion with 0 build customization killed entire communities, outside of 10-19 , and 20-29 perhaps , even my 20-29 friends barely log these days.
Over my last leveling through bgs,all you need is an item in every slot more or less, and even then the biggest problem were broken specs rather than twinks that stuck to their dead brackets.
I’ve seen FTPs/Vets outplay 29rs twinks.
Its not all about gear now, at least not even close to what was. Long gone are the days of a twink wrecking through 5 levelers like its nothing, it can happen but those 5 levelers have to be terrible and very undergeared.
Sure if you meet a 5 man twink premade in WSG and you have no twinks on your side it’s pretty much game done but does that happen so often?
As @Dhen said and I agree many more problems in the balance come from spec imbalance, its just so happens that twinks tend to gravitate more to play op specs
