Twinks are ruining Time Walking

With a half-decent tank, a healer is indeed practically obsolete. Half of the time they barely touch the HP bar anyways, even though they actively cast. Bless scaling.

I wouldn´t put it on multiboxers specifically, but IMO the whole “please don´t kick my afk alt while I force you to speedrun this” schtick should be bannable… you’re forcing your will on 3 other players that may or may not agree with it, which is effectivey coercion, a criminal offense in most modern countries. :beers:

Agree here my dk just heals himself and healers switch to full time dps when they see it in Action.
Most of my tanks can do with a random off heal in dps spec

At this point I don’t care if there are twinks. It makes leveling up alts quicker and I don’t have to pay attention, or even care about the other players.

What are the problem? You get boosted fast rather than going slow. After a twink dgs you leave and que for new dgs where there is no twink and you can go slow again.

It seems that some people aren’t aware of this, but you can actually outrange the xp gains in a dungeon, including the end boss credit, making the run entirely useless.

Say, if you’re playing a priest, or a dk, with really poor mobility, and the twink is a brewmaster, you fall behind really easy. Combine that with tedious dungeons with patrols and long corridors and you run into the occasional group where you have to type “w8” sixty-four times in chat and pray they both read it, and care enough to slow down.

I ran at least four dungeons during the last week of the anniversary, where I didn’t get the credit for the end boss, or half the mobs in the dungeon.

That sucks real hard dude, I basically wasted my time because some dicks wanted to go all ego and decided their playtime was worth more than mine, even though we pay the same, but God forbid these guys wait 30 seconds to let the whole party catch up.

You get the completion exp which is the most exp gain, if not its a bug and you need to report it as a bug.

I have a twink, never met a negative response to it; but if someone did ask me to slow down or in any way act less crazy-op; I wouldn’t mind.
I hope I don’t get reported for having a twink, cause that’d be terribly sad as it is a way to play the game, some of us enjoy having that 1 toon we max for 1 specific type of content!

If they are rude about it, that’s another fiver; but I can at least say - I would not mind slowing down if people around me ask for that, when I am on my twink.

Actually good suggestion. Instead of doing something gazillion times abusing scaling, instead adjust scaling make sense and doing dungeons on sensible speed but with vastly increased xp gains. The later one feels less boring atleast for me. Rushing through normal dungeons gazillion times on repeat and watching things die in 0.5 seconds just sound boring as an idea in general and doesnt really engage or challenge anyone in anyway and just becomes trivial chore.

Especially if people can just afk along the scaling abusing booster, they just have to afk through bunch of dungeons like this and they get their leveling over, the gameplay of afking through dozen normal dungeons while someone boosts just sounds pretty bad from game design pov. Not the most engaging gameplay, so why not just fix scaling and increase dungeon exp gains immensively and put people play the game.

Hey now! I have a Warrior who I used during the anniversary event as a twink, and I played like a normal person! That is to say, go at a relatively normal pace and didn’t pull more than necessary. Basically playing luke I’d normally do when tanking, just as a Fury Warrior.

And why I did it? I saw someone else do it in a dungeon run I was part of. And because it was a fairly good way to get anniversary tokens.

I agree twinks are ruining Timewalking. They used to be mainly in PvP. Now I see them in PvE all the time. Especially since Remix. If I may add to your comments…

Anyone who says they actually want to use their toon abilities and do a dungeon at a reasonable pace gets someone ‘telling’ them they should be grateful for speed runs. I do M+ if I want to do something timed!

People may be new, they may be learning or practicing, or want to chill, not just run after some twink dps or healer (who may or may not have queued as a tank) picking up loot…IF they don’t die to mobs left on them or get so left behind there are no timewarped badges/gear items to pick up. My 620+ healers can get marmalised if I try to heal some spike-damaged dps (not knowing the whole dungeon is being pulled, everything aggros on me) - it’s not pleasant.

Y’know some people like to play the game. Some people like to use their Class and Spec abilities. They may not like end-game content at all or all the time but they enjoy timewalking dungeons.

Why should twinks spoil everything by doing this content at warp speed and regular players not even get a hit on a boss much of the time?! Remix was horrible. Retail is getting to be the same way.

And to those of you who say, “Well, do harder content or play Classic.”. How about, “No, tonight I want to get the tokens and enjoy non-end game on an alt.”. Retail is being dumbed down and dumbed down. But many of us have been playing it for years and don’t want to play other games or versions of WoW - we have an emotional investment in our current toons and want to play content in a reasonable way - NOT RUNNING BEHIND SOME DUDE.

I’m totally fed up of dps and healers having the scaling let them get away with essentially pulling whole dungeons.

I’m fed up of us having no meaningful levelling experience any more - you essentially can’t die and go up two or more levels per dungeon. Everything falls over. Levelling used to teach you how to play your Class/Spec.

Raids…a mockery of the difficulty in past expansions. With gear lower than mid-range M+.

At what point is the majority of the player base going to realise that there’s no real satisfaction when there’s no real challenge…

Do ypu speak for the majority? You can always group up with friends or leave a group if you see a twink. Personally i like it, fast runs, if i want to use my ability i go follower dungeouns or LFR.

I said, “some people” and “I’m fed up…” mate. You need to read what is posted.

What is there to ruin? Time walking is slop you grind to earn cosmetics and level/gear. The greatest challenge is how many runs you can endure before you quit.

Well in the end you refer to the majority, which seems to be a summarization of your post. Where you said that the majority like challenges and putting the sentence there seems to be a summarization of how bad you think twinking is.

So, maybe you also need to change abit in the contex and be more clear or maybe also dont feel attacked if other got different opinions than you.

Last time I suggested TW dungeons were too easy (before this expansion, when they were easier than normal dungeons and your gear didn’t matter) replies were mostly “noo we don’t want those to be a slog, we just want to level/be done with the 5 dungeon quest/grind badges”.

So eventually I gave up, I can’t fight against the entire playerbase, they don’t want TW to be an actual dungeon they want it a tourist mode skip as many stuff including bosses as possible and get to that sweet EXP/quest credit. So having a twink in their group makes it faster for them.

TW always had twinks though, just in the past it was a bit more complicated than slapping some enchants on a full TW gear low level. Ilvl didn’t really matter so people went for gear with as many sockets or azerite traits as possible, legendaries when those worked and were good, and tier sets of course.

Case in point.

Go into Ghost Wolf and follow the tank. Get one hit in on each boss for loot. Just stay alive (or reincarnate if necessary). Try not to pull or stand in bad.
If they’re gaming the system, then you might as well do so too.

I never had a problem walking dungeons so far. Seems like a You problem here really.

Yet I have seen it many times. Was in strat, I run in and die to that weird elite at the start that was chasing the tank but turns to hit anyone near it I died like okkkk… Realize no one else moved at the entrance and the tank said don’t move let me do it. Personally I don’t mind I’m levelling my 10000th alt but I think it’s unhealthy for the game.

Everyone I was in a group with on my 10 lvl shaman was just happy and “begged” me to stay for more xD You guys have to be upset over everything to find new ways to do virtue signalling. Just enjoy your free xp
