Twitch App not handling Addons anymore, good alternatives?

Since Twitch sold the addon management to Overwolf, I wanted to look into what the alternatives are. I want the simple thing, turn on app -> mass update addons -> close the app. Is this going to be possible with Overwolf? As I understand, it’s a game overlay app? Are there any other alternatives? Thank you.

Use CurseBreaker.

What I understood from the press releases, Overwolf will definitely provide something that fulfills the same purpose regarding curse addons as the Twitch app does now.

You could also use wow-interface’s https://www.minion.gg/ but not every author uploads their addons there.

I guess I’ll try it and see. Not a big fan of software bloat though, and it seems like they will have ads too * shrug emoji *

They say they are going to have ads with an opt-out.

A substantial share of the ad revenue is said to be going the addon authors. So if looking at ads is something I can do give the addon authors a little financial support, why not? Just like I am not using my ad-blocker on websites whose creators I like to support.

Yeah yeah, sure, my only wish is to have the app be optional in a sense that I can start it for a minute to download the addons and then close it, don’t want it running in the background.

Of course you can, just like any program running on your computer.
