For the most part, I think this game mode is a needed breath of fresh air for wow pvp however there are two glaring issues:
PvP = Bad
Actually participating in PvP is punishing. You’re more likely to win by ignoring every player on the enemy team and just CCing them to ninja cap bases or run flags. Killing people takes too long and is a waste of time in a game mode that is so fast pace. I don’t think it should be just about killing people but I’m here to play PvP, not just run around doing gimmicks with ice wall, knockbacks, sap caps etc. the whole bg.
Taking the time to kill fight someone shouldn’t be disadvantageous.
The MMR system.
The MMR system is a complete slot machine. You can gain or lose 200mmr in a single loss. Some of the best players in the game are in elo hell at 1500 becuase you can’t single handedly carry 1v8. Some very casual players are at 2200mmr because they got lucky an won a few coinflips in a row. There’s no progression
That’s part of the issue I highlight in my post. The game is just about ccing someone, capping the base, then running around avoiding them while stopping them from capping it back.
Then if it’s a game mode where the base goes immune, you just run off, completely ignoring them
Pvp in TWW is actually a nightmare, people are not dying, every fight feels like a damn pillow fight, you just know you won’t be able to kill the person before an enemy healer joins the fight from the other side of the map, and makes it a 10min pillowfight, it’s just horrible…
that is kinda why im not queueing blitz at the moment
i feel like both fire and arcane really are not there yet
they suck in teamfight
and they suck in 1v1
so i cannot tf and i cannot 1v1 or 1v2 on bases at the moment
i refuse to play frost, its boring and lame
but i don’t see myself, killing someone in 30 seconds and taking a base right now, its gonna take longer, its prob, burst > defensives > reset > burst > cap but too many things can go wrong, someone can come and help him, if its not an easy class to deal with ill die before my burst is back, if its a counter he will just stop my burst everytime and if he has pets i can almost never ninja
but if i go into teamfight with the current state of warriors hunters boomie locks
ill close with 25% of their dmg, and be deadweight.
in dragonflight arcane had less dmg, but i knew i could stay alive long enough to exploit my kit and win alot of 1v1 and 1v2 matchups and steal bases, because of the barrier nerf icenova and supernova pruning, nethertempest gone, chronoshift into pvp talent
it feels like ive gained a solid 30% more dmg, but at the cost of 30% survaiability, and thats not such a good trade considering the dmg i gained, is not enough to kill alot of classes in the time needed in blitz to take objectives
I think a simple way to make killing opponents more rewarding is to increase the time spent at the spirit healer from 15 seconds to 25 seconds, which is the standard for competitive battlegrounds.
Taking someone out will remove them from the game for a noticably longer time period and increase the incentive to kill your opponents, but not so much that it becomes only about killing.
Arenas have conditioned people that kills are the thing that matters only and they ignore the objective, very frustrating experience. It’s like someone who has just played call of duty their entire life going over to battlefield only to farm kills ignoring everything else.
Besides the MMR/rating issues in Blitz. Thats why this mode is abnsolute terrible gameplay wise, and I was afraid that it would become like that once its rated.
Even healers do not do their actual job, they are used to spin flags or cap flags because they are unkillable and can fight 1v4+ for quite some time and buy a lot of time for their team. actual healing in team fights wouldnt make any sense therfor.
That also means, you only see mistweavers and dragons in Blitz BGs at the moment because of their absurd mobility and tankiness.
Then you have the stupid amount of roots and mega slows of 90% etc. Its really annoying when you get chain CCd in a BG as a Warlock for example, which might be the slowest class in the game for a BG compared to all others.
I couldnt even move for straight 2 minutes because of chain CCs and when DRs kicked in root root root perma slow etc. by the time I would arrive at any team fight or cap point the entire BG round is over already.
Thats just absolute terrible gameplay and unfun as F. You are kinda forced to play some of those zoomer ADHD classes like Monk, Dragon, DH, Mage etc. or just a DK and be immun to slow and slow everything else with your 90% slows.
But the most stupid part is MMR nonsense, playing 20 BGs, winning 70% and gain like 30 rating from it. Not even losing rating most of the time tho. But oh boy ONE SINGLE server discconect not even getting the chance to REJOIN… no. Boom, -200 rating for it. Yeah no thanks, not fun at all.
And btw. why are 90% of the Blitz BGs CTF maps somehow? So annoying man…
You get -200 if you DC during a game. I’ve had 3 games where I randomly DC mid game, got -200 rating each time, so -600 in total. These DC’s have also been on blizzard’s servers part, and not mine, since half of my guildies + bnet friends DC’s at the same time.
Let’s also talk about how broken duo’s are. A good duo can single handed carry the game. Not sure why blizz made it possible to queue up as duo into a >SOLOQ< bracket. Duo should be a seperate bracket, imo.
thats a really dumb argument, ofc BGs are objective based, but you shouldnt be punished for pvping in a pvp game mode, because lets be real, majority of games you lose in blitz are caused by people who just mindlessly go on mid and pvp, and yes they are dumb for it, but these people wont change, so the game mode needs to be adjusted so it isnt as punishing and you can actually win somehow. Right now as it is I just gave up on this game mode because I cant push past 1600 with people who refuse to play into objectives, and this is literally every game. The game mode needs to change or it will die.

totaly agree. Blizz idiots ruin all before eaven started… and this shud be fun and bgs for all who dont wanna play rbgs (full premade booster grps), i mean if someone want to go premade bgs, they can in regular rbgs. Why make another one…? So stupid…

Yep, so sad. I really not enjoy that. And did the same what did in SL. Just cancel my sub. Maybe emotions, but holy crap… it’s impossible to play in that way.
