Two craft professions (mainly engi) are utterly useless

Long story short: There is no mechanism for people who like to spend gold on AH for raw mats and do two crafting professions simultaneously and actively because of Artisan’s Mettle weekly-ish cap.

You still can RNG drop knowledge stones but you have to choose wisely in which prof you spend them. So you end up with 100/100 enchanting fully stacked for weapon enchants and 50/100 engi without any chance of getting it higher any time soon. All recipes rep-gated, crafts that yield engi levels are BoP and expensive so they feel wrong to craft or even better two-weekly gated for sparks not to mention the uselessness of the helmet and wrist slot items.

Crafted gear via engineering is utterly worthless. I liked the idea of one stat stick on the helmet slot but boy was I wrong. The DPS loss without embolishment and rather having a useless combat ress which could fail and get you polymorphed, yeeted or deleted is absolute garbo in the ‘world of minmaxing everything even if you dont want to’. Recrafting to sufficient ilvel is impossible. There are no engineers on my realm doing the craft gear spec and I myself got stuck in the loop of rather improving enchanting to make golds. Thus now I’m stuck with one spark less in the head slot.
It literally takes two whole weeks to recover from ones crafting decision fail.

Note to self:

  • read all the info before release of any patch and spoil the content for myself for the price of not not ending up sad by my irreversible decisions.

Note for wowdevs:

  • add badluck protection for knowledge points and artisan’s mettles for people with two active crafting proffesions. For people beyond certain threshold of prof level, like 75/100 so they don’t abuse it by funneling all the points into one while having the other 1/100
